This game is uniquely brilliant

This game is worth every penny and some. The game play is exceptional, in a matter of a week or so I was driving so differently to how I was at the outset. You really learn how to race playing this game. It is incredibly addictive.
What is unique about this game is the connection you have with other players and also the developers.
The player community is exactly that. If you have a question on how to play, what kart to buy then the playing community are ready to help you. I have done this many times and very grateful.
The developers involve you on how the game should be changed/enhanced and your opinions are valued and taken into consideration. Even if you have a question for the developers I have found they come back to you. I have never played a game where you feel so involved.
If you are thinking of buying this game, just do it. Even if you really aren’t sure because you have to pay for the app (like I was), bite the bullet and do it. You will not regret buying this game.

Mobile karting for the same price as real karting

Don’t think that just because you pay for the game that you won’t have to spend anything to keep up once you have the game, or that you won’t have to watch ads, you will. I see what they are going for (besides your cash) and I think in the future it can be a great game. For now there are quite a few issues which make it just mediocre and tedious.

Compare this to a game like Assoluto Racing which is completely free, and which you don’t have to spend to win and you start to think this is a little greedy considering the graphics are like a game from 10 years ago. The handling is more like Mario kart, one of the funniest parts being when you go over a kirbstone and the front does a wheelie for a second, not on the kirb but afterwards. All feels very slow. They say it’s a sim but the function is very arcade like. Steering is fiddly and constantly have to over correct to keep in a straight line. They are going for no assists, great. I play everything without assists but this needs a lot of improvement to even compare to other sims. The menu is annoying, you have to go through a million sponsors talking rubbish to get anywhere, and complete tasks which cost you more money. Even your clothing wears out, which somehow makes your kart harder to control. Shame, it could be a great game but it would have to be rebuilt from the ground up.

It’s okay

From the standpoint of the racing, it’s great. As in mechanics and realism, then yes this game stands out. However there are lots of things which can occur and prevent you from playing. For example you have an energy bar, a system I despise in games on your phone. The bar depletes the more you race and ofc you wait when it runs out or spend the special currency to fill it back up. Also all your racing gear ( gloves suit and boots etc) has durability meaning when they run out you have to buy more and if you don’t your stats are worse. Same with fuel, tires and the kart itself. Track design contradicts with first time runs. The solo practice does not let you try all tracks, you can only try certain ones which are available for the day. As a result when you go in a track for the first time, you could be bombing 60 on a straight and have no idea if your going right or left or doing a 180 or 90 degree turn. Before people praise the map for this, you don’t get much time to react and with the sensitive steering it has a large room for error.

Overall, the game has a lot of pay to win type systems and it’s very frustrating. And the design itself lacks lots of thought for newcomers to this style of game.

We've design the game to simulate the racing environment, so as much as we can, what happens in real life happens in the game, particularly from behind the scenes standpoint. Fitness improves the more you race as does your ability to race for longer as you get fitter. You can purchase, as you say, new gloves, boots etc. from different brands and they wear out. Solo practice is available for most tracks - but not when events are on - as they're being used for racing - however we take your point about learning the tracks and this is something we'll look at as it will surely help newer players and this is important to us.

However, SK does, by the 'No Assists' nature require practice to become competitive, it's the frustration, and, we hope general appeal of the game. Finally nailing that flying lap to set a wonderful really does feel good for that very reason. You got it right :)
