Hey guys. Thank you for making me return to Foursquare and 'Swarm' after a three year hiatus. The reason is obvious. Both the informative and entertaining aspects pertaining to each app have been improved tremendously and I am grateful for that. Could you please look into the notifications section in 'Swarm'? Personal messages sometimes get side-tracked or ignored because they are all combined in one window. I like the fact that new friend requests sit on top of the pane as well as in the notifications wall. And I don't mind the fact that the messages history disappears after a few days. But I do mind that personal messages are not separated with general notification messages. Please consider changing this in a future upgrade. Thank you all for your hard work and continuous improvement of the two apps!

I’m updating the rating from 1* to 5* as I’m glad all my suggestions below have been considered and implemented. I’m among the loyal users who used this app for 15+ years and feel betrayed by the recent update. I hope the developer can address this feedback. 1. Firstly, default screen should be the timeline not the map. This app has always been a social network app showing what are your friends up to in the feed. The revenue of the company comes from the use of checkins data, why make it less convenient? Why would one need to see the map places? The default screen of the app should be the timeline of checkins, not the useless map. 2. Secondly, manual check ins from the timeline or map must be allowed. The reason I call the map useless is because it’s literally of no use. The richness of details is behind Google or Apple and I see no point to compete with them. The only use of the map could have been to select a place and actually check in there. But the new design doesn’t allow to check in manually neither by finding a place on a map nor from the history of your own check ins. Why would you remove such function? 3. The user interface hasn’t been properly tested and falls short of the old app: A) you can’t preview photos when attaching (if I have vertical and horizontal photos in library there’s no way to see which one am in choosing from a little tile, old app allowed to preview) B) the 3x symbols to get triple points for checkins has become so tiny, it’s hard to see it without a microscope, it was much larger in the old app C) even though you coloured everything purple, icons of changing publicity of photos remained from the old app (Orange, red) In summary. Please make it back a more pleasant social app, now it’s quite unfriendly.

My favourite app! Swarm nails the perfect balance between utility and fun - they’ve really nailed the check-in experience.Firstly, as a life-logging tool, Swarm is a fantastic way to keep track all the places you go, and every check-in helps improve your recommendations in the Foursquare app. Secondly, the check-in game of stickers, mayorships and coins, is surprisingly fun and addictive, especially when competing with friends around the world. Many apps let you check in places, but only Swarm gives you something genuinely useful for doing so. I love the stats highlighting where you've been over the last few months, and the ability to easily search your check-in history to, for example, find the name of a great restaurant you went to. It took time, but Swarm is now way more fun than classic Foursquare was, and it's continuing to improve with frequent updates. The only thing I wish they would include is a way to see a venue's tips within Swarm after check-in, as well as being able to submit tips from within Swarm. It would avoid that annoying and unnecessary jump to the Foursquare app after check-in.If you loved classic Foursquare, you’ll find Swarm a return to form, and for new users, there’s never been a better time to join. :)
