Useful app, confusing to use

SWIMTAG has been a great app for tracking my swims and motivating me to swim more. I like the leaderboards, challenges, completions and tracking personal bests.

If you are interested in detail, there’s a lot of data that is accessible. It would be helpful if the team could find a way to find trending data in the results. It’s really hard to see changes meaningfully in the way that swims are presented today.

My real complaint is that this is actually a series of apps and web pages within an app wrapper. That means that there’s a lot of options and pages to discover. The interface is inconsistent not just with items moving about but what happens with an interface element changing screen to screen. In some places content renders inaccessible off screen.

Basically, it’s OK to use once you have experience. It’s extremely challenging as a new user. My thought would be to leave this app alone now and offer a new, simplified version building in the bells and whistles in a more user centric way.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoy the content offered on the SWIMTAG app and website. The app is only one app but it does host our mobile website, as we are only a small team we currently don't have the resources to develop a fully native app though do hope to offer this in the future.

We test the app often and are always trying to update and improve the features and ui, we also greatly appreciate if users who ever experience issues first let us know through our support email with a description or screenshot of the bug as we can often fix it within 24hours.

I’ve been using SWIMTAG since March of this year ❗️for me it has been instrumental in my progression into the Swimasters England Swim Group❗️it started out as a way to keep fit and I do enjoy Swimming but when I started delving deeper into what SWIMTAG actually does I became like a man possessed wanting to improve my times for various challenges. The people at SWIMTAG have also been very Helpful with Feedback and Communication and when a technical question was asked I.e Swimstrokes they answered me promptly and explained in a way that was easy to understand as I’m no Olympic Swimmer just your average bloke who likes Swimming but now I like it a lot and SWIMTAG has been there every step of the way👊👍My opinion Awsome piece of equipment it does more than just record Lengths you swim you can go as deep into Analytical side of things as you want or just look at the number and times of your swim 10 out 10 from me👍

Surprisingly bad!

SWIMTAG as a concept is great. The ‘watch/bracelet’ is fine and seems to work ok. Very clever that it knows what stroke you’re doing and how many lengths etc HOWEVER the app makes it almost worthless! It crashes constantly and is not very user friendly to navigate around. Clunky and disordered- easy to tap on adjacent info to the one you want due to cluttered icons. Would be great if the ‘watch’ could also monitor heart rate and it would be REALLY great if it had a screen that gave a length count!
