Great app, but...

I have really enjoyed Synthesia. It is a great app to help you learn the piano and I love the concept of learning as well as having fun at the same time.

However, recently I have came across a couple of bugs, which I decided to ignore, since it didn’t really impact my experience.

Have ever A’s time went on, these minor problems grew into major, as they wouldn’t allow me to play two notes at once without putting my other hand on the screen, rather than finger. For some reason a menu which is normally there, has disappeared, I’m talking about the one which tells you how many notes you got correct and wrong, etc...

But despite those problems, I think this app is great!

Developer Response ,

Hmm, I'm not sure about the hand vs. finger thing. As far as the iPad tells us, any touch from any body part (or even someone else) registers exactly the same and apps don't have any way to tell them apart.

Regarding the missing number of correct/wrong notes, did you mean the little score box during play? Check the Settings --> Gameplay --> Points option to see if that box got turned off somehow.

Best game ever!

I’ve played megalovania and something is wrong with it it’s making me sad but before that I loved the game so much so thanks for making this game and keep on making games like this because I want to know how to play the piano so if you make more games like this you will inspire me and make me play the piano as I dream keep it up and I will be the happiest boy I can think of in the world and I hope you use your games to help you use the piano too and I think no game is better than yours because I have put a five-star rating of your game so I hope your reading this and making more awesome games the make people learn how to use the piano so hope you have a great rest of your day and thank you for all your games -A Ingham

Good, but flawed

I think this app is fantastic. As a beginner to the piano this makes a lot of pieces of music accessible much more quickly and is fun to try and be better and improve with each play through. However, as someone who is also learning to read music, not just play, I find Synthesia useless in this regard. I will take a piece of music I like, write it out in Notion and Synthesia displays the notation all wrong and not at all how it should look and I plays the wrong notes sometimes too. This is particularly bad with ledger lines. I have tried this using both MIDI and musicxml files and both have to same problem. Until this great big giant problem is fixed I cannot recommend this app, although if the developers can find a fix I would change that and give 5 stars.
