Description
TabView makes it possible to view and print PowerTab and Guitar Pro tablatures with your Mac.
PowerTab and Guitar Pro are well-known and widely adopted file formats for tablatures and thousands of transcriptions in these formats are available on the net. TabView is thus an essential tool for guitar players wishing to learn new songs as well for trainers.
TabView can export tablatures in MIDI format for playback or use in other applications (for instance, GarageBand).
While you're practicing a song, you can follow the playback on screen, loop over selected parts or slow the tempo down.
Create beautiful prints of the tablature: you don't need to stay in front of your monitor to play along your favorite song.
View both the standard notation and tablature, only the tablature or only the standard notation: whatever you prefer, it's possible!
NOTE: TabView is not an editor. If you need to edit or create tabs, you might want to look at Tablatures, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tablatures/id412028643
What’s New
Version 3.13
MIDI playback can be controlled using the media keys on your keyboard (play/pause and rewind) or the "Now Playing" system menu.
Ratings and Reviews
It's OK
Shame it only reads power tab and none of the others. Within a minute I found a online version that works better and faster and FREE!!!!! Not worth the £7
Okay program, but not what I expected or needed.
Not a bad program, but is a little glitchy on my brand new 2011 macbook pro, for example, starting the playback from somewhere in the middle of the track wont work, and putting the metronome on tends to slow the program down (do not know if these are common problems).
Also you cannot edit tabs, or use it to write and compose your own as you can on say powertab (free for PC), guitar pro (not free) or guitar tux/ tuxguitar (free and available on mac, and also reads power tabs), all of which are more reliable, less glitchy and run smoother.
I would say it is okay at what it does, and that i should have researched it more before I paid for it, but even then just viewing and playing back a powertab doesent work that well on it.
Looking back, I probably wouldnt have bought it with all this in mind, and it definitely shouldnt be £8.
Very disapointing - Get Tux Guitar, its Free and Better
Having been an avid user of Power Tab on PC and now using Mac I was looking for something to aid me in teaching pupils. This turned out to be a complete waste of money as you cant edit any of the tabs. I often need to change little parts to tie in with my teaching schedule and can not do this. Get Tux Guitar, its free and better, wish I knew about it before wasting my money
