I didn’t receive a parcel even though I waited at home all day for it, and the note said ‘refused by recipient’. If you can’t deliver, I suggest not making it sounds like it’s my fault when in fact it has been a huge inconvenience to me. I went from understanding to angry.
Deliveries are a mess
Takealot struggles with communication and sticking to scheduled delivery dates , also changing the delivery time on site definitely does not work, order’s gets cancelled, and you are expected to repurchase items at a higher cost dependent on the takelot market value as they recredit you’re profile and do not refund you . Why cancel an order after one failed delivery on a Saturday that was not even scheduled .Confirmations were also received that the delivery date was rescheduled for the original date of Monday after going through the site. This is so annoying and unnecessarily time consuming , and not the first time this has happened. The drivers are clearly unhappy as they seemingly have little patience , there seems to be no accountability measures in place ! Seems like a lucky draw if you revive you’re order as per scheduled . Better to avoid takelot when ordering important things such as textbooks or technology, just to risky and time consuming to go through this process.

I had ordered a gift for my sister. And to make it easier on her So she wld not hve to drive to collect her gift; I asked her to withdraw R60 from my SA bank account. (She has signing power). I live in England.
I ordered something for her bday.
The courier came. Told her he could not deliver until he had counted the cash. He took the money, she asked for a receipt ; he told her he cld not giver her one, but the office would. And she has her parcel anyway.
Guess what was in her parcel? A set of floor polishing brushes.
Never cld get the floor brushes collected again. Never saw the R60 again. And when I finally started writing to Takealot about this robbery. Takealot said „customer had refused the parcel and there is still a delivery fee to be paid.
Finally my sister had to go and collect her parcel. She called ahead to find out from which warehouse. They told her where to collect her parcel. So, off she drove, produced my letter to prove that her parcel is to be collected from takealot, after showing her ID etc. They THEN told her that her parcel is in another warehouse.
So, off she went again and finally could collect her parcel after having to pay another R60.
So, BYE BYE TAKEALOT. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY GFROM SUCH A LOT OF CROOKS. AND, they are all in it together.
