Talking Potatoes 4+

If you want motivation, it is really great and although i assume it was not made it English, it works so well and the interactive features are cute and definitely my likeable. It doesn’t take that long to do unless you write paragraphs on the comment part but I love it and for an app that isn’t that popular, it’s pretty well made

Cute app and I want to use but many things to do with the interface makes it awkward.

Some animations disappear very fast, too fast to read the message so you just click elsewhere and then click again to reactivate the message.

With the text, when you name your potato the placeholder text says “Drink water” but this many letters does not actually not allowed in the text box and is shortened to “drink wate”, if you do use all the letters, on the post it note the full word does not fit correctly.

On the next screen when it says to type your goal, again, if you repeat the placeholder text it is too many letters for the text box. On top of this the lettering is not consistent and it makes it very confusing. In the description text it says “21” and you can clearly see that is it the numbers 2 and 1, However when you type it shows as IL and it is not clear that this is the number 1. The a letter looks like a 2 and it is all just a little confusing and needs some refinement. The text is difficult to read generally, handwriting font is cute but this borders too much on the messy side to be practical.

I also do not like the addition of the single “dark coloured” potato asking if you think it looks weird too, for me this gives a uncomfortable undertone (I appreciate that this might not be conscious but none the less the connotation to real life cannot be ignored), this just isn’t necessary in any app but especially not one for habit building and mindfulness. I know it is only a potato but the hint of something/anyone with dark skin being called weird is slightly uncomfortable to me because we all know the real life effects of this and this feature especially should be reconsidered, add more dark colour potatoes or other colour potatoes also like orange sweet potato instead of a single dark coloured one with otherwise all light coloured. This parallel is just not really ok for me. Until this is addressed people should be aware incase this is something that will also bother them. If this is addressed I will of course update my review.
