WHAT IS TAYLORSENSE?
TaylorSense is an optional add-on feature for your Taylor guitar. A smart battery box that replaces any 9V battery box in a Taylor guitar, TaylorSense uses sensors to monitor the humidity, temperature and battery life of your guitar along with any potentially damaging physical impact it suffers, and sends alert messages to your phone via the Taylor Guitars App when care is needed for your instrument.
TaylorSense Features:
DASHBOARD - The central hub for your TaylorSense data displays all the vital signs of any connected guitar on one screen.
HUMIDITY - A digital hygrometer monitors the humidity of your Taylor guitar. If the levels become too low or high, you’ll receive an alert.
TEMPERATURE - Exposure to extreme heat or cold can damage a guitar. TaylorSense alerts you if the temperature becomes dangerous for your guitar.
BATTERY - TaylorSense lets you check the battery life of your onboard pickup anytime through the app, so you’ll always know where you stand.
IMPACT - TaylorSense will alert you if your guitar suffers a serious blow and record the time of the impact so you can inspect it for damage.

TaylorSense sense!
So you've invested in a Taylor. A mew friend for life.
You need to protect it!
TaylorSense tells you if your beautiful guitar is too hot, too cold, too dry or too humid. Or if it's had a knock.
Look after it! It's the first guitar I've owned with a humidity and temperature sensor (and tells me if it's had a knock too).
TaylorSense kind of blew my mind. I live in a very old house - if it hadn't been for TaylorSense I would have been blindly oblivious to the risk of damage by humidity to the life and playing quality of my instrument.
Yes, there might be a little paranoia. But I'm over it after taking action (the app advises you how) to mitigate risk and keep my Taylor in tip-top shape.
What you don't know doesn't hurt you, so they say.
But it might hurt your Taylor. Better to know what's going on to keep it safe!
Long term review
After using Taylor sense for 5 months I can assure you is the best thing that your Taylor guitar can have. Having the data of humidity, current temperature, battery life and & impact incident are the basic things you need to know if you care about your guitar.
The only thing I hate, is that the unit you buy in order to use this app, is a separate purchase and doesn't come included with the guitar, also once you replace the unit, the spare unit is just plastic rubbish and that's not very eco friendly as this company claims to be, thats why I'll give 4 stars only.
Teething Problems
I had teething problems with this initially. The humidity was measured as being constantly in the mid 60s% even although two independent hygrometers, along with 4 Bovida pouches, all inside the guitar case, were suggesting around the 52% region. After contacting Taylor the App team, remotely, recalibrated the TaylorSense and now it’s suggesting what I would regards a more realistic measurement of the humidity. Thanks to Jack Kirwan for resolving this issue.
