Tennis Game in 1920s 4+

Excellent Game

I really enjoy playing this game. The graphics are really great and it allows a great deal of control over my player. The only things that I understand that could be improved would be the possibility to restart the game at any point and start afresh if you wish so because after playing for a long time and reaching a high level there are not that much challenges anymore. But all in all, it’s a really nice game. Well done!

Enjoyable, but...

This game started off really well. As you begin start to adjust to the controls and get used to the game it becomes even more enjoyable as you progress. However as you start to build the attributes and skills of your character this is where it becomes disappointing. I have found that the skills you build do not translate into the game play. I have built my serve power and serve procession to a point where they are both really strong, however even with a perfectly timed serve I still find that my service occasionally goes over the net at a feeble pace which allows the opposition an easy return. This seems random, I can deliver exactly the same serve twice in succession with one flying over and delivering an ace, and the next one being as described above. This skill building bug isn’t just isolated to serves either, with my general game not really reflecting the abilities of my character. Sort this out and you’d have a really enjoyable game on your hands as the feel and look of the game is really nice.

Excellent game - some issues

I really enjoy this game and am always looking to improve my level.
A couple of issues though; increasing your ability doesn’t always translate to the court. I’ve increased my power, precision and stamina but most shots don’t reflect this especially the power shots. I think these abilities are a bit arbitrary and are definitely hit and miss.
My other main gripe is the allocation of points in a win/lose scenario. I’m currently on Elite 1 level and if I win against opponents with similar points I gain at most 5 points or usually 2-4 regardless of the score. If I lose I drop around 8 - 12 points every time. This makes it very difficult to progress up the leaderboard.
With the caveat of these two issues this is a great game and very addictive.

Thank you for your feedback. Gradual increases (e.g. 1-2%) in abilities (skill levels) are difficult to notice right away. If you compare 5% power skill with 50% power skill, the difference will be very noticeable. Allocation of points (player rating) depends on the difference in ratings between players and the score. You will get more points (your rating will increase more) for victory if your opponent has a higher rating. Bigger the difference in rating, bigger the gain. And you will get more points for victory if you win quicker (e.g. 7-2 is better than 7-5). The same applies for losses. You will lose more points if your opponent has a lower rating. And you will lose more points if you lose quicker.
