Good but…

This is the best texting app I’ve seen yet …although , I don’t find it fair that u have to pay REAL money to get unlimited text , on TextingStory you have FREE unlimited text so I would like it to be like that . Same with the trial , I would like there to be up to 5-7 characters in each as I wanted 3 people in my role play and I could only fit 2 but anyway , still AMAZING .

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback! You make some good points; we will use this to improve the app.

Pure, Unadulterated… Greed! Ethically, wrong!

… I’d like to know, as doubtless many others would: How are you using the feedback? It’s your go to reply to every begging review! Go on…

As a responsible adult, tell us what you are going to do to stop young people ‘begging’ to you?

If you have one small piece of decency about you, take a moment to consider what you are encouraging young people to do.

Yes, you’re making a short term fortune and you’ll keep moving from trend to trend doing the same thing, it’s unethical, though. It’s wrong.

So, here we have an ‘above average’ app that does a decent job.

We also have the ‘gluttony’ of the ‘gold rush!’.

It seems this & similar apps attract a huge amount of younger users. The app has utterly ‘ludicrous’ pricing, verging on ‘demented greed - $ Lust!’.

Sadly, you see lots of reviews ‘begging’, literally. It’s not a nice thing to see youngsters doing & what will this do in their minds moving forward?

Does the developer feel big, important & super by having youngsters begging in their hundreds? & every time, the reply is: ‘we’ll use your feedback..’

Stuff like this needs to be ‘far better controlled’ by . There’s Business & then there’s downright exploitation’. It’s wrong, so bloody wrong.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your message.

We make great use of feedback. In fact, we endeavour to read every piece of customer feedback from all channels. Due to the high volume of inbound messages, it's inefficient to craft a personalized response to each review. This why some of our responses may sound inauthentic to you (e.g. "We will use this feedback..."). But behind the scenes, we are internally tracking the issues and incorporating feedback to make changes.

Over the years, we have made a number of improvements, many of which stem from customer feedback. For instance, today the basic version of the app has far more capabilities than it did just a few months ago. Furthermore, the app has seen a number of design and performance improvements. For example, the video processing and export feature -- a popular feature used by both non-paying and paying users -- was improved nearly 10x. That means today it takes 6 seconds to export a video that used to take 1 minute.

These sorts of improvements require continued engineering and design resources. These are not free. A common approach to funding a app might be to run third-party ads. We decided against this because we found that they interrupted the creative process of writing a story. To protect both user experience and privacy, we opted for the freemium subscription model - a popular choice for today's consumer and many leading apps.

The app charges $39.99/year for unlimited access to its premium set of features. This works out to about $3 per month, or 11 cents per day. I don't believe that this is ludicrously high nor exploitative. Some users have short-term usage needs, and for them we offer weekly or monthly subscriptions. Still, some users ask us to make the app completely free. This, for reasons discussed above, is not feasible. However, the app introduced free trials to allow users experience the premium before committing.

I can assure you there are not any nefarious intentions on our end. Anytime somebody asks for help cancelling or refunding their subscription, we offer them step-by-step guidance. We often resolve issues and bugs for users within the day. We offer top-notch customer support to the best of our abilities. We receive an overwhelming amount of positive feedback in the form of reviews, direct email, and in-app messages. Providing excellent user experience is our top priority. We make improvements to deliver on this goal.

I hope this message has helped address your concerns. If you have any additional thoughts you'd like to share, please do not hesitate to email us.

Thank you

I thought it was good until

❌❌FOR YOUR OWN SAKE DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP❌❌

From when you first open the app a free trial popped up and I knew from then that it wouldn’t be free. I opened the app and it looked just like iMessages so I was quite impressed but that soon went down and I wanted to add another character and it asked for a free trial. I thought uh okay I guess that’s a bit of a problem then after I kept making the story then it said CHARACTER LIMIT? I was quite enraged and as if it couldn’t get worse it did. I saw a watermark in the corner which really angered me because I was trying to do a cool prank and it ruined it. And to top it off I couldn’t even send an image? I was very done with this app and I should of downloaded texting stiry instead.
