TGI Fridays UK 17+

We attended the Sutton Coldfield branch and here is how it went.

We arrived, we’re greeted and seated perfectly.

Ordered drinks, a bottle of £26 wine and two glasses. The glasses were filthy. I mentioned to the waitress who said,
“He has only just washed them”,
I showed the glasses to the manager and took glasses and napkins to toilet to clean glasses. After all if he who “ had just cleaned them” had another go, the result may be the same. No time to wait, Father needed to be home for carers.

We ordered food. I asked for a rare steak. My food came an I couldn’t cut it with steak knife. I asked the waitress to try. She did struggle to cut the steak. Her response was,
“It’s tough because it’s rump steak”,
I did no accept this and asked for the manager. He took the steak away to cut it. He returned to say,
“Our rump steak is always of that standard. It’s down to our suppliers “

I was offered an alternative. I chose ribs. They took so long, I put them in a doggy bag.
During all this the waitress took my cutlery and I was left to eat with fingers.
The manager brought cutlery and I returned the fork which had vegetable matter baked on it.

We ordered desert with the manager. I asked for cheesecake with ice cream and not whipped cream,(I suffered a heart attack 3 weeks ago), I received a cheesecake with whipped cream. I took it back to the kitchen.

There were 3 other tables sending food and drinks back around us.

Lee was really helpful, my boys really enjoyed it and he made us laugh. He was very patient with us. The food was amazing, will definitely come back again. It’s expensive, but definitely worth the money. My 10 year old saw the Avengers poster on the wall and asked if he could buy it lol. Max was amazing too with the birthday song. Ellie was lovely, very helpful and helped me put the banners up and helped with my birthday cake. Emaleigh was amazing and really bubbly and friendly. Carli was really friendly too and helped me when Lee had to go. The chef Lee was really nice too. Haha, Tom’s glasses broke, but he was lovely and helped keep on top of the bar.

We arrived on time for our booking and we’re asked to wait whilst our table was prepared. Once seated we waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Bearing in mind I’d mentioned on my booking that we were eating out for a birthday, the server was unfriendly and gave the impression that it was a chore for her to serve us. After taking our order the starters and tap water arrived 20 mins later. We then had to chase up cutlery so that we could eat them. The drinks we ordered came out 5 mins later minus the pina coladas which we were then told they didn’t have. We chose margaritas which took a further 10 mins and in fact we’d ordered the frozen ones not on the rocks as given. But didn’t bother to say anything as we would have had to wait too long. The main meals came out in a reasonable time and the food was very good. At no point were we asked if everything was ok with our meals or if we wanted more drinks.
Completely unfriendly and shabby service. Hence no tip given! Very disappointed
