Ratings and Reviews
Having reasonable expectations
Too much complaining in the reviews about how current the data is. Some of it could be better but much is about what you would reasonably expect. International datasets with comparable base years always lag because they reflect the pace of the last available data. 2008 isn't that bad for a 2011 publication. The user can still get a good feel for a huge number of interesting indicators where ranking and the basic messages won't change that much between 2008 and 2010. Of course there are much more expensive data sources available for professional investors and the like, but this just 69p...
Hit and miss
A lot of data is incomplete, a lot of the ranking categories have no data, knowing a country is 15th isn't as useful as seeing the data that made it 15th... And a lot of comparison is only for the ranked countries, e.g UK is not in the top 24 countries for crime, so there is no comparison available. Not nearly as complete as I'd expect from the Economist.
This app was everything I was looking for. Great content to improve knowledge and fact finding! Would like to see a 'news' feature to make it current and give a reason to visit daily! Also a minor annoyance is on the home screen it's 'world in fi..' abr. needed to tidy up
