Beware!

Initially I was extremely happy with the app. It allowed me to read the Herald on my frequent business trips.
Then the app stopped working. It repeatedly asked me to restore purchases and even after numerous - more than 10 - interactions with the app support team - and more than one week's subscription lost, I am still no nearer having the issue resolved. It seems that my subscription and tracking through the app to my Apple ID cannot be linked.
As I wrote, initially great - but beware when the service goes wrong..... You take your chances.....
Update: September 15. Call me stupid but I tried again and exactly the same happened. Couldn't reset my connection and I lost a month of subscription. Very flakey with dodgy support. I wonder if this app is endorsed by herald newspapers?

Avoid at all costs

I have been a Herald reader for many years and decided to try 1 x week of the digital version at £7.99
I downloaded the app and Apple took my money from my account.
However every time I entered the app and clicked on the front page to read the edition, a pop up appeared asking me to subscribe. No way could I get past this to read the newspaper.
I have tried to get my subscription cancelled but no chance. No interest or feedback from Apple.
I contacted the developer and explained the problem at length. I attached photos of the pop up and my paid subscription.
I had one standard reply which clearly showed the developer had not even read my email complaint. I emailed again and got no reply.

So, folks 1) Beware of Apple who steal money without reason or support and 2) do not bother with this app or any other from this lousy, disinterested developer.

Room for improvement

I was delighted to see this app giving full access to reading the paper in its true broadsheet form. Download speeds and ease of use (zoom, swipe and archive material for offline reading) are good. However, images in the main newspaper editions remain blurred when you zoom in to read the article. This is not the case in the supplements where images adjust the focus to remain sharp and therefore making it a more pleasurable read. It must be possible to rectify this matter so please have it built-in to the next update.
