Description

The Levelator is software that evens out the variations in audio levels within your podcast or other audio file. For example, so one speaker is at the same level as a second speaker. It's not a compressor, normalizer or limiter although it contains all three. It's much more than those tools, and it's much simpler to use. The UI is dirt-simple: drag-and-drop any WAV or AIFF file onto The Levelator's application window, and a few moments later you'll have a new version which just sounds better.

Return of the Lev

I've been using Conversations Network's Levelator for years and years. Since the original version is no longer supported, I was excited to see this new app. I have not been disappointed, just as awesome as ever. Drag and drop your audio onto the app and it amazingly fixes up all the levels! Thanks for releasing this new version and keeping it free.

Still havent found anything better.

Ive been trying to recreate whatever magic this does using expensive tools like iZotope for use with podcast editing but ive never managed to get anything to sound as good. Would love to see this in plugin form so i could use it alongside iZotopes batch processing.

Highly Recommended

This is a magic box, with some of the best under the hood algorithms I've ever encountered with many of the auto- type audio processors. With voice, as designed, this is fairly unbeatable.
Clean, clear, clever, to my ears.

It also works with music, but as it has no manual controls, so you won't be able to adjust the output - which will be relatively low, but it will be consistent given a batch of music. To get around this, give the Levelator the highest quality original audio, then adjust the volume in another way/app/DAW.

But for voice, this is excellent.
