Description

For over 50 years, The New York Review of Books has been the place where the world's leading authors, scientists, educators, artists, and political leaders turn when they wish to engage in a spirited debate on literature, politics, art, and ideas with a small but influential audience that welcomes the challenge. Each issue addresses some of the most passionate political and cultural controversies of the day, and reviews the most engrossing new books and the ideas that illuminate them.

The New York Review of Books is published 20 times a year.

Offline reading

Access with WiFi is good but I still can’t download issues for offline reading.

App offline mode doesn’t work

The app’s offline mode blocks access to already cached content on my ipad, rendering the app completely useless right when I need it, that is, when I am offline or travelling. I can’t for the life of me understand the decision to do this. I can only suspect it is a bug (that has been there for nearly a year now). Obviously the content is exceptional, and it is lovely to read the high-def pdf and text versions - when they work.

Companionship and enlightenment

I get a buzz whenever the new New York Review of Books appears. I know that I will have pleasant evenings of reading ahead. There’s nothing quite like it. The London Review of Books comes close. But that’s a semester of study. The NYRB is a whole academic year of knowledge and laughter.
