The Tower - Idle Tower Defense 4+

The game is very repetitive in nature but in a fun way, as you slow progress you see it change.

It is relatively idle but it does require more focus than something truly idle if that’s what you’re looking for.

Progression at times can feel a little slow but from my experience so far this only occurs when you are missing something, and once you realise what it is you will make progress again. However I do feel it is a little slower than necessary I feel this is to intentionally create a grind that encourages paid features, you don’t need to engage with the paid elements to still enjoy and make progress in the game though.

One feature I would like to see is a single upgrade that can be used to make the gameplay fully idle, automatic upgrade purchases it doesn’t need to be smart or make the correct decisions it just would reduce some of the grind as it could be done non-optimally but fully idle which would help gain resources while not needing full attention to make progress slightly faster as easier while not changing the fact that being good with your active choice would progress you faster.

Overall the game is very enjoyable and quite addictive with more development it could become a classic game people play for a long time.

I understand that these games are made to make money, but as someone who prefers to play for free and watch ads the progression is simply too slow and unrewarding. It’s such a brutal grind just to get even a smidgen of success which unfortunately reduces my motivation to come back and play more. Giving a few extra free bonuses here and there would be so much better and doesn’t have to impact the pricing strategy of the in-app purchases. However, a lower priced tier of rewards would certainly encourage me to buy it. I just don’t feel like dropping £10 in one go on a mobile game, which is the lowest you can spend. This isn’t a complaint about the difficulty of the game, which I think is actually set just right, but about continuously hitting the ceiling of what is possible with the coins I’ve collected. I have, what I feel, are some decent strategies for when I want coins or to try and get to the highest level I can so most certainly not a skill issue. Overall I actually really love the gameplay. I’ve played tower defence games since before the glory days of miniclip and flash games, and this is refreshing take on the idea.

I utterly adore this game. It’s perfectly balanced for progress and trying different tactics is fun. But you know what the best part is? You are not bombardee with ads. You are rewarded if you watch them, but not forced to. That is how it should be, other developers take note. I WANT to watch the ads when I see them because it’s worth it. However, where is the sound? No sound effects at all in game? Please tell me you are working on them. Effects to warn of specific types of enemies for example, explosions, firing bullets etc. If this is the early version I can’t wait to see what updates you have in store. Keep it up guys, I love this game. Update: after a long time, the game has randomly reset all my stats! I don’t have the heart to start all over again, weeks of effort erased just like that and no idea why or how :(
