Thoughtful experience

Really enjoyed it. I fell in love with the Rusty Lake games because of the intricate puzzles and the chilling atmosphere, but this game is different in a good way. Yes, puzzles here will be somewhat easier and the story won’t make you anxious to check your windows at night like in the previous episodes. But I loved it because it was more about the actual feelings this time. Worry not, it’s still gonna be eerie enough for you to wonder what they *really* meant by doing this and writing that, but this time the development of the characters and the story were standing on their own feet. The pace was slow but not too much, contemplative even. I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours, thank you so much Rusty Lake/The Second Maze.

Ps : There seems to be a visual bug in the credits where half of the names were erased. That’d be such a shame if you talented guys couldn’t get all the recognition deserved because of that.

Thank you so much for your kind words and continuous support! We're happy you played the game and appreciated the different approach we took with the tone and gameplay in The White Door. We hope you'll check out our newest game, Samsara Room, as well. Also, thank you for reporting the bug in the credits, it should be fixed now :)

Emotional, relevant and challenging!

Where do I begin... I started playing this tonight and finished it tonight. Though I wish it was a bit longer I fear that would ruin the authenticity of the story. The emotions (and relevance of them) are so encapsulating you almost feel like you are inside Bob’s mind and are desperately trying to escape it. The music was beautiful and fitting to what was going on.
Though at points the story became quite farcical to the point where you’re lost as a player, it still delivered in terms of emotion, and was wrapped up beautifully at the end. I would definitely recommend playing if you’re into puzzle/storyline games as it has kept me hooked, even if it was for a short duration of time. A game I will remember and do not regret buying - 5/5!

Interesting concept but fell flat a bit

I love all rusty lake games - mostly because of the unique puzzles and dark themes and, although the concept of this one was intriguing, the puzzles seemed a bit simple and repetitive and the story really lacked that morbid, macabre theme, plus there wasn’t really an ‘ending’, the game just kind of stopped. I know the repetition of the puzzles was to portray the monotony of his life, but it was just a bit TOO monotonous. I didn’t really feel connected to the characters or story, and it seemed to only have one section with a dark visual that other rusty lake games have going on throughout.
I found myself quickly clicking through everything to get into the story a bit more, to find the credits rolling way before I expected.
A bit of a shame, especially for a paid Rusty Lake game, as not all of them cost money but still deliver a good puzzle game.
