Description

The universe of This War of Mine has been expanded by following DLCs:

The Little Ones - explores the hardships of wartime survival as seen from an entirely new perspective - that of a child.

This War of Mine: Stories:
1st episode: The Father's Promise - a heartbreaking tale of loss and hope in a war-torn city
2nd episode: The Last Broadcast – as a radio-operator you are going to face moral dilemmas and decide, whether there is a price too high for the truth
3rd episode: Fading Embers - in severe and harsh winter, you will need to find an answer to the question of what is more important - survival of human legacy or the survival of a man.
All of the Stories episodes are available as separate DLCs as well as a part of Season Pass. The Little Ones DLC is not included in the Season Pass.

In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.

The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.

Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.

This War of Mine: Anniversary Edition
It's been two years since This War of Mine global release and we're still expanding the experience. This new free DLC, created especially for the Anniversary Edition, adds new characters, new locations to explore, and most importantly - a whole new ending, leading to a different outcome to the game. The dilemma though remains the same – how far will you go, to protect the ones you care about?

Key Features:
• Inspired by real-life events
• Control your survivors and manage your shelter
• Craft weapons, alcohol, beds or stoves – anything that helps you survive
• Make decisions - an often unforgiving and emotionally difficult experience
• Randomized world and characters every time you start a new game
• Charcoal-stylized aesthetics to complement the game's theme

By any means necessary.

Thought provoking and engaging

So I am guy in his 40’s who likes the occassional game that requires a bit of thought and does not require the dextirity normally associated with 1st person games.
This is a dark by, well put together game with some seriously thought provoking challenges.
Trying to balance the need to survive and keep your group en-tact morally as well as physically is a challenge, the decisions you make can have devestaing consequences.
Maybe it’s my dark humour but I love this game. Thank you and well done.

Stand with every person suffering in the Russian invasion

I don't, and probably will never, play games. I bought this simply because they said the profits would be donated to help Ukarainian victims of the Russian invasion.

All i can say is superb.

Im 44 years old, grew up in the 80s and missed out on all this technology. Lets face it, kids of today do not know they have been born when it comes to gaming. I was once a huge fan of Playstation and had 100s of games but you know the story, got married, had kids and so had to painfully sell all my gear. My kids are now 6 and 8 and im contemplating purchasing the PS4 but as it stands at the moment, i play the odd game on my Macbook. Nothing really interested me for ages and ages and then this game came out. I was slightly hesitant due to no reviews available when i bought it but thought what the heck, its £12 so i did, and im so pleased i did. Initially, it took a while to get into it due to no instructions etc, but when i did i was absorbed. When a fantastic concept, extremely challenging but im learning all the time new things. Ive only managed to get to 17 days and the last time, Arica froze through the night when i was scavenging…..and i was gutted. I forgot to put the heating on, poor girl…she was a great scavenger as well. All i can say, im absolutely hooked on this game. I have to stick the power source on my macbook. All Macbooks users will know, once you start gaming, the battery power just disappears, but eh, thats not a problem. If you want to play something different, absorbing, challenging and actually quite upsetting to some degree (Poor Arica, fancy freezing to death sob sob) try this game out.
