- Reviews -

"Tiny Armies is a fast, lightweight, easy-to-play, game of conquest. This one's worth buying on your iOS device." - Pocket Tactics

"Tiny Armies should be standard issue for all Apple Watch owners. It places an effortless punch right on the button that delivers a knockout." - The Zarf

"This is the type of game you'd expect to play on a watch. Once you start playing - oh my gosh - it's like wait, they're attacking me! I'm not just swiping. It's not passive. These guys are moving trying to eliminate me. It's actually quite fun." - Apple WatchCast

"One level of Tiny Armies takes a mere minute which makes it perfect for short play sessions. The game is fun and fairly challenging, you’ll need some good tactics to play a couple moves ahead and take down Red." - 5 Minute Games

Leaves you wanting more

This is a great little puzzle game. The visuals are pleasing and intuitive and the sound design is unobtrusive. The gameplay is a pretty even mix of strategy and luck, which sometimes means playing a level multiple times until things go your way. Thankfully, each level is very short, so replaying them isn’t a chore. The handful of levels that were either entirely strategy or entirely luck were the most fun to play.

It’s incredibly short, taking less than an hour to complete. I would happily pay another £0.89 for another set of stages. There’s a pass-and-play mode and a mode where you play against the computer, but the levels are randomly generated and the only thing you can customise is the number of players. These modes would be a lot better if they had customisable settings. I’d love to be able to toggle fog of war and types of obstacles and to choose the board size.

Overall it’s a great game that’s entirely worth the price, but it’s over in a flash and has little replay value.

Developer Response ,

Thank you very much for your review and for playing Tiny Armies! Your positive and constructive feedback means a lot to us. We particularly enjoyed reading your assessment on the mix of strategy and luck, as well as your thoughts on the sound design - they were a lot of fun to add to the game and we enjoy hearing a player’s reaction to them. On the Skirmish and Versus modes try tapping the little settings gear at the bottom of the screen. You should find all of the customizable settings that you mention. Give it a try and feel free to let us know what you think!

A nice puzzle game

Works fine for me (looking at the other review). Plays really well with swipes. Happened to see this on a website. Shame these Watch games aren't easier to find on the watch app. Hope the dev produces more

Great game

I am enjoying the game and would like to make a suggestion. In skirmish mode you always have to go first however it would be great if you could add a feature where you can switch on/off random player start. It would be great to try this being the 2nd/3rd/4th player to move.

Developer Response ,

That is a great idea, thanks for the suggestion. We look forward to adding that feature into the game in the near future!
