An epic game of real-time tactics which combines turn-based empire building with massive 3D real-time battles on land and at sea. Charged with the fortunes of a nation, you must use diplomacy, trade and military force to establish it as the dominant power of the 18th Century.
Decide the strategy behind the development and expansion of your empire. Expand your borders through conquest or diplomatic cunning. Conquer overseas territories to establish colonies and profitable trade networks. Take command of the battlefield and patrol the open seas to defeat your enemies and shape the contours of history.

not a bad game, enjoyable
apart from the fact that my mac gets really hot and loud while playing, so i have to keep taking breaks every now and then, game is quite enjoyable. hasnt crashed yetm and only once experienced any bugs (the finish turn button wasnt working, so had to go back to previous save). yeah its quite pricey, buts a decent game. if you can justify the cost by treating yourself, the its okay. but yeah, gameplay, campaigns etc. all good. no problems there
Saved games corrupted
This game is fine for short campaigns, but during a prolonged campaign there comes a point when saved games, either auto-saved at the end of a turn, or manually saved, are corrupted so that upon selecting "Continue Campaign" or "Load Game" the program immediately terminates and no amount of restarts will enable you to continue where you left off. Sending reports to Feral Support, in full compliance with the in-game instructions, produces no response. So unless you enjoy the frustration of seeing hours of gameplay being trashed before reaching a conclusion, this game is best avoided. I should add that my Mac matches or exceeds the minimum requirements listed by Feral.

Saved Games Corrupted
Despite my mac exceeding the requirements to run the game, it repeatedly crashes. The most frustrating aspect is the corruption of saved games, so no amount of saved games can solve the crashes. Now when loading games it instantly crashes the game. No number of reports seems to yield a result and neither does a full reinstall. I see that other reviews from over 2 years ago have the same problems. It's very disappointing to see that the developer doesn't care about their product or appear to support it. It should be removed from the App Store if it doesn't work correctly or they should offer refunds.
