All good so far
I’ve come to this app as I refuse to use the Trainline anymore due to their appalling customer service and poor, misleading terms and conditions. Some reviewers are moving due to this apps alleged poor customer service, if it is bad then fair doo’s it needs sorting, but The Trainline’s is equally as bad and certainly not something that you want to have to deal with. Certainly don’t move to The Trainline due to this App’s poor CS, you’ll be equally as disappointed. I’d gamble that it’s the same company providing the staff for both companies.
Anyway, the tickets are just as cheap, the option of splitting is a bonus. Only minor point to sort when buying is that it seems to take a long time for the payment to go through. This could improve as sometimes you need to buy a ticket at the last minute and I wouldn’t like to be waiting for the payment to go through.
No cancellation!! SCAMM!
This app is the worst ever, firstly unlike other providers train pal doesn't allow customers to cancel the tickets even if the mistake has happened and you want to refund the ticket immediately after purchase. Usually as a customer you should be entitled to a 15min cancellation window after the purchase of the ticket. Instead when using the Train Pal you have to buy a new ticket and hope the customer service will get back to you.. ( if you are lucky you will receive a small refund (less than 30% of ticket value) because they take they keep the rest of the money to charge the admin fee. Not to mention there's no telephone number so I don't see any reason for charging the admin fee when there's no support and the app is intentionally designed to mislead the user so that they can submit the complain. Additionally, the app didn't sync with the webiste so as the first time user my data was completely lost. And I had to make the complain. When prompted to the help window the FAQs instructions weren't helpful. Clearly app has issues and bugs, there is no support, users get charged the admin fee for 0 service and we've lost all our consumer rights and self respect when purchasing tickets from Train Pal.
never had any issues and saved loads
I regularly take the train and they are usually very expensive in the UK, but with TrainPal I can make sure i get the best price possible for a journey with its split ticketing options and lots of free vouchers, i’ve saved almost £50 in the last couple months just through using TrainPal. When i was unable to use some advance tickets i had bought just before Christmas, i requested a refund without expecting much if I'm honest, and i was surprised to receive a full refund on all my tickets within a matter of days. The app is also plenty easy to use and I really cannot fault it, can’t recommend more - it’s basically free money.
