Description

This app is a legend, developed in 2009 - the first field guide app for trees in Britain! With its KUSAM id system to this day it is the best app to id trees in the UK!

A stunning visual guide to identifying trees of the British Isles.
All native and naturalised species of the British Isles are covered.
No connection to the internet or mobile network is needed.

Great fun to use, identification can be enjoyed by the whole family.

The original and the best, TreeId is an easy to use but comprehensive field guide to trees found growing in open countryside and natural woodland of the British Isles. The guide has been created by professional published ecologists, accept no cheap imitations!

One of BBC Countryfile's top 10 apps and one of the World Wildlife Fund's top 10 apps. Described as "incredibly useful" by ITV's Seth Conway and "a lovely app" by Adam Vaughan of the Guardian. It was voted No. 5 in the Guardian Green Living top 10 apps and was given the "Best" award by iPhone Apps Plus. Our app is the only tree identification app in the Woodland Trust top apps list.

Have you ever been on a walk in the countryside and wondered "What tree is that?"? TreeId is a great tool to help you quickly and easily identify trees you find in the British countryside. It's great fun to use, too. With TreeId, identification can be enjoyed by the whole family, and can engage children with the natural world around them. For the tree enthusiast, there is comprehensive anatomical and ecological information, with high quality images of the leaf, flower, fruit etc. of every species.

When you have identified a tree, why not take a photo and record it on our map. See how many species you can identify this year!

The app does not need an internet connection, all content is downloaded when the app is purchased.

SUNBIRD IMAGES field guides are the only products on the market that use the KUSAM species identification methodology. This state of the art method is a modern taxonomic keying system designed specifically for use on mobile devices.

Great in your pocket identifier

Always wanted to be able to identify accurately the beautiful trees that I come across. This hits the nail on the head. Easy train use, gives you percentage hit rate based on the questions you answer. The. You can look at pictures to compare. You can even mark the trees you have found on the map. Definitely a must have. Works on iPad well but great to have on the iPhone so that you always have it.

Tree ID

I love this ap - we've recently moved to the wilds of Norfolk from the wilds of Essex (yup! A superhuman effort to travel so far!).

Seriously though, since arriving here I've found myself being more interest in the trees surrounding us. Equally, having the Bird ID App (from the same studio I believe), I find myself taking a greater interest in the birds in the area.... Having these two apps I seemed to want to know what that tree or bird I've discovered on my travels - can't get this sort of encouragement (in such a passive way) from many other Apps.

No, I'm not going start wearing tweed nor a deer-stalker upon my head 😄😄😎

If you really want to enjoy the countryside...

You can't truly appreciate the diversity of the rural landscape without having some understanding of the trees that populate it -- and what better way to gain that understanding than with the delightful pictures and potted summaries to be found in this application? You can even enjoy the scenery from the comfort of an armchair. What's not to like?
