Trenches of War is a fast-paced World War I-inspired strategy game. Battle through the Alps by spawning units and capturing trenches, barracks, and factories. Cross rivers that rise when it rains. Use or destroy bridges and cornfields that may aid or deter your maneuvers.
The goal of this game is to cross the battlefield and enter the enemy camp. Doing so will require careful unit recruitment and strategic advancement timing.
Units are recruited and controlled by pressing the buttons at the bottom of the screen. The rightmost button tells three troops to advance to the next trench, the leftmost button tells three troops to halt advancing. Soldiers, flamethrowers, and tanks are capable of advancing into enemy trenches, snipers and artillery will only advance when a trench has been claimed. To access elite units, press and slide up on the Sniper, Tank, and Artillery buttons.
Money trickles in automatically overtime but is also rewarded for killing enemies, capturing trenches, and when a crate falls into your territory.
Killing enemies contributes to a power meter. When this power meter is full, a power-up (speed boost or immunity) is activated for a few seconds.
The score multiplayer in the top-right corner contributes to money rewards and power-gain.
Cornfields blind basic infantry, providing some cover for troops attempting to cross them.
Rivers slow soldiers down to 3/4 of their normal speed when it is sunny and 1/3 of their normal speed when it is raining.
Trenches upgrade over time to acquire barbwire.
Barracks and factories can be captured to spawn units closer to the battlefield.

Good, but improvements could be made.
I enjoy this game greatly, the variety of troops and the way you sometimes have to think tactically makes this an engaging and enjoyable game. However, the majority of ALL of the levels can be defeated by blitzkrieg-ing the enemy. Basically, use your starting 700 to buy 14 troops and then spam advance till you can afford more troops, buy more troops and advance those, continue as your opponents are crushed by your numbers, planes and artillery and machine tanks are made redundant. Artillery tanks are the only things that can stand in your path and they can be quickly annihilated by some 300 unit bomber planes. Maybe try factor in some potential situations where more actual strategy and less “charrrrrrge” is required in the next update.
Overall, for a 2D trench game this is pleasing and a good time-waster. Would recommend.
Good but needs help
This game has loads of potential but it still needs a few more updates EG the snipers and gunners seem to hover above their trenches randomly and the enemy would shoot them. Fix this and I can make a 5 star
Extremely good game
This has been one of my favorite games lately I’ve been playing it non stop the game has many fun levels and tactics and even a great challenge when you get into extreme mode. I hope you add new levels and possibly even multiplayer I love this game and would even pay for it
