In this day and age it’s almost required to get an app to block spam calls. And for most part this app does the job. Now I do not pay for subscription as I can’t quite tell what the actual benefit for it is. Especially as I do have some issues with inconsistencies in the non paid version. For one example. Yesterday I had a spam caller. Firstly the app did not notify me of it as such. But after a quick google search and app search alike it was confirmed as spam. Secondly. Once I deduced it was spam I immediately blocked the number. Thinking nothing else of it. Problem is. Today I had calls coming through from the exact same number. So the app whilst for most part does the job well. It isn’t water proof and even leaks through numbers you’ve actively blocked. This isn’t the first time it’s happened and most likely not the last.

Hi!You are protected from spam in Truecaller, this is limited to only detect the Top spammers in your area/region. How do I block them? There are two simple ways to do so: From the call log > Tap on the ! > Scroll down to find "Block & Report". To manually add a number to your personal block list > Open Truecaller > Tap on the Spam ID tab in the lower right-hand side > My block list > tap on the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner > add number. //KL Truecaller team
Filters no Spam, but it does important texts and calls!

This app has actually caused me no end of issues.Let me be clear I am a free user, and I will not update to being a paid user; if you cannot perform the basic functions well how are you expected to perform the higher functions well.After having this crap on for months; only today did I realise there was a junk category in my messages and within there was countless messages from my Doctors, HMRC and other important messages, absolutely NONE of which were spam, and ACTUAL spam was getting through so I assumed the spam filter wasn’t working.Evidently it was but in the complete wrong way.I am flabbergasted at how terribly implemented this was, actually filtered the most important messages and let the spam come through.I’ve also uninstalled it for family members and lo and behold they had the same issue, a bunch of texts flooded in that they needed, this was after updated the filter lists manually on multiple occasions so this was not the issue.And if you tell me this can be fixed with a premium feature: jog on. This is a basic feature implemented which should just work or not be a feature at all, you can’t break our phones and then say I need to pay your prices to fix your app.At the end of the day, use your block feature, or use phones built in spam lists if it has the feature, this app is janky is hell and cannot recommend it.
Not Good, Not happy, Same issues years later!

I first installed this app when I had my iPhone 7 it worked perfectly and used to show the spam calls in red, once it updated it stopped doing so and then other apps on the phone started to play up and freeze up example, when I went into settings then select phone, then select Blocked Contacts the phone freezes and don’t open the block list, the same in message settings. The calendar that is already installed with the iPhone became corrupted and freezes too, since then I changed to an iPhone XR I experienced the same issues I then uninstalled the calendar and replaced it with the google calendar, and true caller was also uninstalled. I took the phone to apple and they saved my important data, wiped the phone and putting it back to factory settings. The issue still was there afterwards even now with my recent new phone my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I still have the same issues as I did with the iPhone 7and the iPhone XR. Every so often I will get prompts on my phone to reinstall the apple calendar, but I refuse to because it will cause more problems with my phone on top of the problems I’m still having. What every True Caller did to my iPhone 7 I have the same issues 2 phones later. This has definitely implanted something within my apple account which still follows me on my present and future phones. So to see this as an offer on my phone network website page on How to block unwanted calls and then to come on here to still read of technical errors and other errors I will not be reinstalling this app again. It was a very good in the beginning, but it’s not very good now. Apple can’t even remove what ever is buried within my apple account.

App used to work great but found that it no longer displays spam calls (even though they’re logged when you manually search for them in the app). After doing some digging to find out why it appears that Apple has limited the amount of information that they access on your phone thus spam calls are no longer displayed. I don’t particularly have an issue with Apple protecting my privacy more but it does make this app pretty useless. What’s more you could end up upgrading to premium or gold (at a huge one off cost!) thinking this would improve the app but it won’t. Apple should therefore remove the app as it simply doesn’t do what it claims but is happy for people to waste money on it! The app will only display a callers detail if they’re also using the app. I’ve had some idiotic sales calls in the past but I can’t see any spammers registering for this app!
