Music. Podcasts. News. Sport. If you can listen to it, it’s probably here. The all-in-one audio app makes it incredibly easy to find streams of all types.

  • Deleted. Such a shame.

I loved this radio app. I have had it, like many others, for 8 years. I always used it for sports radio stations worldwide, and it was amazing as a free to use app. But now, adverts after adverts. If you want to pop the radio on to catch a goal, wicket, or try: don’t bother. You won’t get into the station for well over a minute (sometimes two). It’s boring and draining, and happens every time you change radio station. Why listen to even more ads when most stations have their own adverts. Why would I pay for a subscription monthly when other apps are free or pay once to use. The app cannot take that much effort to maintain. Sadly it’s a cash grab. Go ahead and Google ‘Best Radio Apps for iPhone’, and find a new free one or one time pay for exactly the same content and even better UI. Don’t waste your time here. It’s a shame because apps rarely get ‘worse’. This time it has. Sorry to see you go this way old friend.

  • Gone downhill

I’ve been using this app for a long time, probably around 12 years! I pretty much exclusively use it to listen to talksport radio and even when talksport released their own app with no adds, I kept with TuneIn because one 30 second sound add I can take. Now it seems there is 2 video adds followed by the 30 second adds as well as the usual radio advert breaks. And everytime my headphones disconnect, I get a call, watch a video with sound, the adds restart even if I only disconnected from TuneIn for a split second! TuneIn got greedy and now I’ve switched to the talksport app. Thanks for all the years with skippable adds, those were the days!

I have been using the tune in app for a few years now and for the most part I think it’s a great app the only thing that slightly annoying is sometimes if you have a alarm or a WiFi/signal drop instead of it continuing it will sometimes play advertisements and if you’ve already listened to adverts be it radio or in app it’s annoying because you get a 20-30 second advert and then you miss out on a track you were listening too. I get that advertising on a free app is a way to generate income that makes it a free app to use but when you enjoying a song that you don’t have or haven’t heard in a long time it’s frustrating and videos adverts on a radio app when you start streaming occasionally9/6/24Since I wrote this original review the advertisement has just gotten worse I just went to use it and I had to see a video for Disney+ then listen to 2 30 second advertisement it didn’t play so it pause/play and had to get the same 3 advertisement I had just had so that’s 6 adverts to get radio that was on their own advertising so that was 5 minutes of pure advertisement. it’s ridiculous and glitchy and I’m losing patience with it

  • Great app with one big issue

    Dylan Melody

Tunein is quite a stable app that doesn’t crash. It has a great selection of free podcasts. But one major issue I have is once you’ve listened to a podcast episode all the way through, or anything that isn’t live radio, the app will not allow you to play it again because it resumes playback from when you last listened, which essentially causes it to resume playback at the end of the episode and skip to the next episode before you can rewind, and there’s no way of rewinding it no matter how fast you are. This hasn’t always been an issue so it must be an update that’s caused this. So if like me, you fall asleep listening and you want to play something that has already played through to the end, you can’t. The only way you can do this is to completely delete and redownload the app so that it doesn’t attempt to resume a 22 minute and 5 seconds episode at 22 minutes and 5 seconds in, for example. Very frustrating, and I’m now finding myself having to do this every day. They need to fix this.

  • BRILLIANT

After trying quite a few radio apps I have to say this one has to be the best one so far. You get so much choice of stations and this one is so easy to use. It's fantastic for iPhone and looks great on the iPad it really does. I'm not sure how this particular app would perform on the go on 3G because of speed issues and data usage. But this app works floorless on wifi and you don't miss a thing because if it does happen to buffer which is not often or hardly ever it just picks up where it left off. It's also great because you can pause as well and still not miss anything. The other great thing I love about it is that you have so many options like my favourite one you have the choice to change the bit rate and format so you can listen in the best possible sound quality. So that's why I have given it a bit thumbs up and 5 stars I will also be buying the premium version soon.

  • TuneIn Radio review

I absolutely enjoy every part of TuneIn Radio and am able to listen to radio stations all over the world and I love the way I'm able to choose what I listen to, e.g. I'm a very big Cliff Richard fan and he has a radio station based in New Zealand, so that's what I listen to the most. Especially it's non stop music without any adverts. I also love to listen to 80's music and also 90's music, so I listen to Absolutely 80's radio and Absolutely 90's radio.I also listen to Smooth radio especially when I'm winding down after a busy day or just when I'm needing to relax during/after a hectic time/day.I take this with me everywhere I go, so I can listen to my choice of radio/music wherever I go/am, it's my favourite must have App.I totally 100% recommend you download TuneIn app which is totally free and can be listened to all over the world. I love this app 100%
