Your killing it with each update - it’s now deletable,to think it was 5* originally

This app was the best a few years back when you could launch into live tv within the app and ads were kept in their place - a banner - with all new stations coming and easily edited, then came the bugs, channels reordering themselves and the TV guide not loading grid view correctly, all the bugs aside it was still a useable app used daily. This last update has killed it for me tho. Ads are way to intrusive,a splash screen for the last year or two was just about doable but this new crap would take up to much of my time just to see what’s on tv. Your not the only app (TF) so I’ll start using another or load this one a minute before I want to look at it. Why can’t banners be used,do these companies insist you take up our time like this? If anything it sets me against those products and services. You’d do well to roll back five years & you’d see your ratings go up and may keep your users. I rated this 5 stars once upon a time...
Happier days sadly gone! ☹️

Developer Response ,

We are so sorry you are experiencing problems. We are always trying to find the balance between advertising and user experience. With banners we are unfortunately not able to make enough money to provide the service so we have opted for interstitials that happen just once per session at the beginning. We hoped that would be acceptable to most users. Please email support@tvguide.co.uk with any bugs or issues you are experiencing and we will work hard to resolve them.

Now dead

The app was horrible in terms of having to wait for grid data to load and the advert videos to load etc but it was still possible to use it. With the very latest update the app now crashes right away upon opening on an iPhone 6 Plus and is useless. Just opens up, you just about see the menu bar with a black screen and then it shuts down again. If not compatible with an “older” phone just say so please. Then we all know where we are with the interminable hardware & software “upgrade” cycles & can move on to an alternative.

Much worse now

I suspect the makers are trying to slowly turn this into a different beast with this latest “upgrade”. But as a quick TV guide it is much less useful now.
As many have said, it now opens to a confusing and largely useless front screen. When you move to the program grid (the reason it’s used) it always gives you a heads up of a film starting soon on Sky Movies. Might be of interest to some, but on my iPad the large movie bit, the new tagged bit and thick time/date bar pushes the actual grid down into the lowest quarter of the screen. So it opens virtually uselessly.
Annoyingly, if you quickly choose the grid on opening, when you close the full page advert that comes up (it has to be payed for somehow) then you’re taken back to the useless home screen again.
So, to get to the program grid, it’s open/choose the grid tab/wait for the grid, then the ad to load/close ad/rechoose the grid tab/push the grid up so you can see more than BBC1 and ITV. THEN you can use it.
Can it PLEASE open with a full window grid??
