Description

"Now the trumpet summons us again, not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are – but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle..." – President John F. Kennedy

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Twilight Struggle puts the player at the center of the Cold War, the political and economic struggle between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R that spanned 5 decades from the 1950's to the 1990's. Designed by award winning creators Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews, players control one of the two modern superpowers, as they work to spread their dominance throughout the world via political influence and coup attempts. But if either side triggers nuclear war, it's game over!

CARD BASED EVENTS
The event cards in the game are based on actual historical events from the Cold War era. Through the playing of these events, players exert their superpower's influence as they attempt to gain allies and regional control of the globe. From the early days of De-Stalinization, to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War and beyond, players are immersed in the actual events of the struggle between these two nations to be the dominant superpower in the world!

IMMERSIVE STRATEGY
Hone your skill and strategy as a world leader against an A.I. opponent, and then take your game global with matches against other players via asynchronous online game play.

Great game with only minor bugs

I cannot still understand why the prices of the apps change only the signs from $ to £ without conversion, which makes games come at a steeper price than their American equivalent. The game is still great. Played it almost every day since download a few weeks ago. Tha AI could be a bit smarter, however if it would pose a serious problem just play against real people.
The few bugs are just little annoying. E.g. The Non alignment movement played by the AI tends to pick any country it likes even in Europe with no own influence, while on my turn I struggle to find any country at all. Hope they willmfix this.
Thumbs up anyway, and this promo card can be turned off, though the £3.99 was way too high. You can buy complete games for that price!

Good game

I feel the ratings for this game are not very balanced. It’s a good game, good user interface for a busy map, no real bugs so far. The ai take 5 to 10 seconds to play on my iPad, which is not a problem given the complexity of the strategy you need to think about - it’s actually a relief to not be pressured all the time.

The game itself is brilliant - good theme, deep strategy and plenty to think about. There seems to be plenty of online players if the Ai is not what you want. There’s a couple of game variants - late game allows you to have a shorter game. There is only one ai but there is a handicap system to make it harder or easier. There is a plans and play mode.

No colour blind mode though - battleground countries are red and they don’t stand out for me. Could do with some help there.

Other than great app and game.

What have you done???

Have been playing this for years and enjoyed it greatly but the most recent update has made it virtually unplayable. You can no longer scroll around the map to place influence. It is slow to load and and everything seems jerky. Please fix it.
