Personally had a great experience using Uber eats and would say it’s my favorite of the food delivery apps. Signing up is easy and not very time consuming. You also receive a nice discount on your first order which is great. Additionally, the interface is user friendly, making it nice easy to browse through a wide variety of restaurants and cuisines that is also broken into categories so if I’m looking for a particular food it doesn’t take me long to find it. The delivery service has been reliable, with the majority of my orders arriving on time or even earlier. I really enjoy the tracking feature as it lets me keep an eye on my order's progress and I can also see where my food is when it comes to delivery and an estimated arrival time which like I mentioned previously is usually pretty accurate. Overall, Uber eats is an app I would describe as my go to in terms of food delivery. Although there is lag now and again and if you are in certain areas the options become limited or non existent. It is a very strong app that I would recommend to friends. My suggestion for Uber eats would be to have a feature where you can split the cost with another account on the app. This would be great for those at university/ college and would really give an edge against the other apps.

Mixed opinions

This app provides a great service, especially in small towns that don’t have deliveroo or just eat etc but the biggest problem hands down is the consistent wrong orders. When I say this I mean literally something missing from 7 out of 10 orders. One or more of the items has something wrong with it or missing. They regularly forget dips or part of meals for example I ordered a 3 chicken select meal and just got 3 chicken selects and a drink and no dips nor chips! This is a constant problem and where it happens so much they won’t even refund me half the time so I just over pay for food because I don’t get the full order. Not only that but charging £4 delivery fee for McDonalds when it’s the most popular so you make the most anyway and you charge more not less. I still use them because there the only app that does this service in my area but it’s so frustrating! I have listed the problem so please don’t respond asking me to elaborate on the problem. If you are going to respond either look through my orders and refund the ones i tried having action taken and nothing happened or don’t mention my situation personally OR please go away and find a way to make the standards better and make sure the drivers and restaurants are checking the orders and if they don’t have something automatically refunding the difference or giving something better as an alternative. It’s a shame because the apps great but this problem is such a huge let down.

Horrendous / non existent customer support

Had an issue with my app for Uber eats as it duped me into tipping a delivery driver almost £10 from a large order we made. We had stated no tip on the order ( as we had already paid a service fee ) but then they contacted me to rate the meal. It automatically added a tip for the driver and as I was frustrated at all the questions and having to rate every single dish in our order, I tried to exit the process and the tip added automatically. I tried to call Uber immediately and they refuse to answer a phone call unless you have an order pending. So then I used the chat facility and was assured that this was just a pending payment and would not be taken out. The next day the money came out, I contacted on chat again and they basically refused to refund it because they had already paid to the driver. ( not my problem !!)

After trying to chat to the customer services chat rep some more he point blank refused to escalate to a manager and every time I respond he just marks the issue as ‘resolved’ without even replying to me and has kept doing so for weeks. Absolutely shocking rude service towards me as a loyal Uber rides, eats and travel customer. Fuming but literally have no way to resolve it other than to close down my accounts and never use Uber again. Help !

Definitely Avoid

EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY CALL IT HELP...... WHAT HELP??? It is non existent! We have had trouble a couple of times over the past month with missing food but tonight it was diabolical! We ordered a Family Bundle, Calamari and Cookie dough from Bella Italia. When it arrived we received 6 Big Dog hot dogs. So we contacted Uber eats and was told: We understand that these issues do arise on occasion, but not often at this regularity. I am sorry but it isn’t my fault if your drivers make errors or the companies that you work with make errors, penalise them not the customers! I did not want a refund I just wanted the correct order. So I then contacted the restaurant for the second time after there advice was to contact Uber Eats and they kindly helped us, they told us that they customer that got our food took it back to them and that they was going to cook us fresh food if we could collect as obviously there was no Uber driver to deliver it. So my wife had to go out and do the drivers job and go take the hot dogs back and collect the CORRECT order. In my opinion it is not our fault, it is driver error and we should be compensated. I also agree with others that the customer service has gone down hill recently. Extremely unhappy! I wish we had Deliveroo in our area as I much prefer their service!

RUDE STAFF

Had a horrible experience with a ‘customer adviser sijaz3. If you ever get them when you ask for help - you’re screwed. My drinks delivery was an hour late and it was incredibly frustrating having to tell one driver to deliver to another address which was a 5 minute walk away now because they were late, who then cancelled with no notification so I had to message the new driver again. When I contacted customer support they had to audacity to accuse me of ‘making a mistake when putting in my addesss’. Make no mistake - I planned to leave right after my drinks have arrived, I was already late, incredibly frustrated that I had no drinks, and to top it off - had their useless customer advisor point fingers in my direction when it was 100% their mistake. Asked ubereats to look into this situation and this adviser’s attitude several times but still had no apology whatsoever. Well at least now you know that you can work at Ubereats and be protected from whatever stunt you pull to your customers because customers don’t matter.

In addition, if you are struggling to make ends meet, become an UberEats delivery driver. You can steal the food from the customers’ bag and ubereats would not care, since they continuously refuse to provide refunds for missing items. Great business trip!

Will not be using this app after being charged £200 for items I did not order.

Absolutely horrific experience of being overcharged by this service. I attempted to order from one vendor and was horrified to receive multiple deliveries not willingly or knowingly ordered. In particular I was horrified to find that I had been charged for items that I had not even received. These charges totalled near £200 GBP. Over the next couple of days I have made multiple attempts to contact customer support/reach out via social media to rectify this egregious mistake, all have told me that it falls outside of the time in order to receive refunds even though this HAS EXPLICITLY NOT BEEN THE CASE - I raised my first complaints the morning the extent of the charges became apparent and I have repeatedly been trying to get through to a real person since - still within the 48 hour timeframe for refunds to be accepted. I am absolutely distraught at the unwillingness of Uber to engage with my complaints at all and this is having a profound impact on my mental health. I just want to talk to a real person in order to fix this, and I am concerned. Quickly getting access to certain branded foods is NOT worth the pain and anxiety caused by this nightmare and I WILL NOT be using Uber’s services in the future unless this is resolved.

Don’t use this app

I’ve used ubereats for nearly two years and at the start I was really pleased with the service as I was a uni student and switched between living at home and in my accommodation yet there was never any issues. However I was always disappointed by the lack of availability with different restaurants and fast food places, other companies offered a wider range, but the glaring issue now is the complete lack of customer care, support and a total lack of quality. I’ve noticed that for the past few months ,at least, my orders arrive an hour late or more, while thats not the apps fault there customer care is! They say they will email u back to address issues and they never do like when I had food not fully deliver and incorrect items in my meal. They also never sent an order that I placed to the fast food place and I waited for an hour before I phoned and the fast food company actually told me they never received an order but when they checked eventually they were able to get me my order. I’m not the type of person so leave negative reviews but I think people need to be warned because if a customer is getting worried if they’re order is even going to come and they doubt whether to use the app or not then there is a definite problem.

Don’t bother

Can’t even begin to explain how much patience it took for me not to lose my rag at this company, so I thought I’d warn anyone looking to download this app as it’s not as good as it seems on their adverts. Over the course of 2 years that I’ve been using this app, it’s just got worse and worse until I am now going to delete it and use something else to get my food delivered. 9/10 times I order from somewhere, the driver either “forgot” to pick up a bit of my order or the restaurant “forgot” to put something I paid for in the drivers bag” when I contact the restaurant or the customer service help option on this app, neither service hold themselves responsible for the mess up, and just try and refund the money instead of getting in contact with each other to somehow rectify the problem. Throwing money back at me isn’t helping when I specifically asked for a product. Whenever I have complained to the uber eats customer service I get this scripted email about how “ Uber Eats has certain quality standards we hold restaurant partners to when they fulfill an order and we understand that your expectations weren’t met on this occasion” utter lies. Be warned when you use this app, IF you use this app, you will not get the things you asked for all of the time, and it will happen more than once, more than often.

Very disappointing customer care

I have been a loyal user for Uber eats for a long time now, but now I feel I can no longer continue to support a company that cares so little about its customers. I placed an order at 11pm one night and expected everything to be going as normal, 30 mins pass... a hour passes... an hour and a half passes. And I get in touch with my delivery partner only to find out my order had never been received by the restaurant in the first place. After another half an hour of my delivery partner going around town for no reason and then going back to the restaurant to check again, it was too late and they were already closed. Turns out my first delivery partner decided not to deal with this mess and pawned it onto the next, who also decided to mess me about. My order finally got cancelled at 1am after I TOLD them to cancel and I was left without food for the rest of the night (because everything is closed). If I had been informed of this straight away I could have had a chance to order other food. But no. They decided to leave me hanging. I reported this to Uber eats and they gave me some robot response saying they aren’t going to do anything further. All I wanted was to feel like a valued customer, to have a decent apology and for them to speak to the restaurant to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Failure to do this, means that I can no longer support a company that doesn’t care about its customers. Uber eats, you have lost a loyal customer.

Would give 0 stars if I could - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Would rate zero if I could. Driver turned up at the restaurant which is a 5 minute drive away, picked up our food, but sat there waiting 20 minutes for another order to be prepared, to deliver on the way. Messaged him to see what was going on and was completely ignored. Our food eventually arrived in a cold, soggy mess. We tried to reheat it to make it edible, but it didn’t turn out well and defeated the whole point of ordering a takeaway. The worst part was watching the driver just sitting at the restaurant for all that time, knowing the quality of our food would be impacted as a result. Have had various issues with Uber Eats over the months with delays, spillages, items missing etc but keep giving them a chance as we are very limited in our area. It is not a cheap service (especially in the current climate) and we’d be more than happy to pay for it if we actually received that we pay for, but we don’t. After this terrible experience they have sent stock answers to us and haven’t investigated the matter, even though we have presented evidence of the driver sitting at the site for a very long time, delaying our order. Will not be ordering with them again and would urge others not to. Customer service is terrible, you cannot speak to anyone throughout and just get stock answers through the app. They are absolutely robbing people at such a very hard time for us all as a society. Would urge all to please avoid at all costs!!
