United Airlines 4+

Not sure why this app receives so many negative reviews as it is much better in every regard than the apps offered by other top airlines. The app also gives you far more info than other airlines and is very easy to use.

It seems that most negative reviews are about United’s on board WiFi pricing which might be expensive but, it’s Internet on an aircraft via satellite so it’s going to be expensive until the technology becomes cheaper. The pricing of WiFi is not a factor of the app but rather of United.

Would definitely say one of the best airline apps.

As a new United flyer and non-US citizen, it seemed better to get the app than use the website. But the fact that it logs you out after maybe 5 minutes, means you can’t keep your boarding pass open through the airport. Significant when the send to Apple wallet button doesn’t work. It’s not obvious how you can change seats once selected, how you can send boarding passes to other passengers in your party, print them out properly, or go to your boarding passes once you’ve checked in, without going through the process as if you haven’t.
Shame that it’s poorly implemented like this since the info on your flight is good and it keeps you updated.

When completing the form to join United’s frequent travel program, which was required to use the app, which was required to register my passport to enable me to check-in; the field “Region” did not accept “England”, nor “Middlesex” and dumped me out. I the had to renter my password and security questions which was extremely frustrating. Why can’t you accept that London does not have a region? Or if you can’t verify it’s acceptability before I am allowed to progress to the next page inputting the info mentioned above, then rejecting it wasting my time by making me have to re input it?
