Description

Unsquared is a simple tool to create unique dynamic posts on Instagram! Mashable: "Unsquared will make you look like a professional on Instagram".

With unsquared, you will be able to post panoramic pictures in full size on Instagram without having to squeeze them in a single square frame.

Unsquare your picture in two simple steps:

- Take a picture from the app or choose one from your library,
- Set the number of pieces you want to split your picture into and adjust the cropping window accordingly.

Once you're done, the picture is divided and the pieces are saved to your library.
You can then go on Instagram and share all of them in a single post using the Slideshow feature.

Updated Review

I wrote the review below and the following day received a reply from the developer. That alone is impressive enough. The reply addressed my concerns, provided the info I needed to get the App to work properly. Now that I understand where I was going wrong I’m happy to give it 5 stars.

=============

It’s not terrible but needs two major improvements:

1: The ‘x’ to delete the Dev’s logo doesn’t always show (to clarify, it’s there for maybe a second or two then vanishes) so your finished image has the logo on it. I’d rather ignore the forced advertising than have somebody else’s logo on my image.

2: Users should be allowed to choose which area of the image to use. In its present iteration it’s the app that decides.

It’s a free app but I would buy this ONLY if the paid version:

- Did not include advertising
- Gave users more control over selection area
- Was not subscription based

For now it’s free so I’d suggest trying it and if you don’t like it then delete it as I have. Its deficiencies make it unusable for me in its current iteration.

Developer Response ,

Hello! Thank you for such a comprehensive review! Here are our follow-ups to some of your points:

1: The cross mark "vanish" is likely due to a lack of connection to the internet. If properly connected, it shouldn't take more than 1 second to reappear. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet.

2: You can completely choose the area that you would like to crop! Simply press and drag the picture until you get the window to the desired position. You can also enlarge/reduce the portion of the picture that is covered by changing the number of pieces.

Paid version notes: We are currently working on a paid version and have taken careful notes of your review!

So simple to use

There’s a few different Apps that split pictures, I’ve tried the others, but prefer unsqrd because it’s simple to use with excellent results. That’s it : Simple

A very useful panorama app but.....

Typically I upload a photo I want to use as a panorama to my phone from my laptop by email. This photo shows up on my camera feed and in the Photos app on my iPhone but I’m unable to select this new pic using Unsqrd. Some twenty minutes later and it still doesn’t appear, yet if I do a test panorama on an older photo the resulting square photos will then be selectable, along with a mystery photo of the ground or my knees that the app seems to insist on taking every time I use it....but the photo I intended to make a panorama of still doesn’t appear to be selectable yet.

Developer Response ,

Hello and thank you for your review. The problem you are describing could be due to the fact that our album orders pictures by timestamp. Typically, if you downloaded an image that was taken years ago, it might be high up in the camera roll. To help overcome this, we created an albums view in our new version. This way, if you save your pictures in a specific album, you will be able to retrieve them in a split second! Thank you again and we hope this new version will meet your expectations.
