Upgrade Soul 12+

Story/app is definitely interesting...

...although I'm having trouble downloading the chapters. Managed to get up to chapter seven and have purchased chapter 8 but it'll download about half the chapter and crash. Not sure if this is an iOS 8 issue but it is a pain paying for something and not being able to use it.

The Comics style for tomorrow!

Being a big BD/Comics reader and buying a lot of them I found this app via some french comics-related blog... I find it awesome. It is a great media to use with printed/digital graphic stuff.

Beyond the specific story developed here (which is quite interesting and gripping so far) I think the creators of this app are bringing what the BD/Comics experience should be on a tablet. It is generally difficult to bring this type of narrative to a device without crowding/clunking the space and this is truly the future of comics as I see it: fluid transitions (playing on picture size as well), light 3D effects, minimal use of animations, gyroscopic effects, bring the use of this app to the point that you get into the story very comfortably. The app serves the content and not -as some developers have sometimes tried clumsily- the contrary.

I am convinced there is a way to bring BD/Comics classics such as Tintin or Superman on that type of platform using the same dose/level of effects... in the meantime big up and keep the chapters coming! (In the end the total price of this app does not cost more than a hardcover collector such a Watchmen!) (and I hope it will be a success, there's a lot of work in there, and that we get to know the end of the story...)

Stunning in form and clever in execution, and the story seems super promising as of the end of chapter two. I'd challenge anyone to take a gander at the free chapter and remain unimpressed. The subsequent ones aren't cheap, but £18 or so (according to current package pricing) for a complete graphic novel isn't unheard of, and this is the sort of thing I can see myself revisiting. In fact, I've already reread chapters one and two a couple times.

One criticism: It would be nice to know when we can expect future chapters, especially once we've paid for them. Don't want to leave a nagging doubt that they'll never arrive.
