Needs improvement

The scanner on this app is poor. The barcode needs to be almost perfect for it to scan. If it slightly smudged, imperfect or has sellotape over it then the tracking number has to be typed in which is time consuming. Text messaging is also hit and miss as some customers complain of not receiving the confirmation text. App also logs you out on a regular basis.

Clunky and not very intuitive

Considering this app is the primary way to manage parcels for an access point, you’d think UPS would put just a tad more effort into its development.

The login is screen is hardly secure verging on pointless. Why does it ask for a UN/PW combo if all that is required is any random key input?

I never knew scanning could change my mood so much. Get the scanner just right and you’re uplifted. Get it slightly wrong and you’re spending an age typing in endless digits.

Why does an access point app require location services to be enabled? Does UPS need to know where the scanner (I am) at all times? Big brother much?

What is the actual benefit of the ‘inventory’ tab on this app? It does not clear down previously processed packages and takes an age to update with new ones.

Sync might just randomly decide to cack itself. Resulting in a force quite procedure and hoping it corrects itself.

Quite frankly, the previous handheld device provided by UPS was far superior than the app based version. Yes there’s many factors like the phone used and the camera and the performance blah blah. Clearly UPS didn’t want to foot the bill of their own devices, hence the dodgy app.

Be nice if the commission was better too I guess.

Poor show

We had bought a phone to scan the packages a few years back. And it didn’t work. We were able to get hold of a Zebra scanner from UPS which is perfect. We’ve been told today they’re getting rid of all scanners and mobile devices are to be used(with a small compensation). I’ve set it up to give it a go. I’m going to be moody when the scanner goes for good. That’s for sure.
