Hi! This is Västtrafik’s app. You can plan your trip, buy tickets and stay updated on our traffic. You can travel with the app in Västra Götaland and Kungsbacka.
With our app you can:
• Buy single-, period- and daily tickets. Pay with payment card or Swish
• Search trips and find the quickest route
• See vehicle location in real time and stay updated on traffic disruptions
• Register for cashback on single tickets, securing your period tickets and the possibility to lend your period ticket
• Save your favorite trips and stops as favorites
• Export your trip to your calender or share it with your contacts
• See departures and arrivals for specific stops
• Purchase company tickets if your employer is connected to Västtrafik Företag
• See where on-call traffic is an option to our regular traffic (shown when searching trips)

• Detailed view for trips has a new layout, to easier convey the information.
• Traffic disruptions are now displayed with a header. Tap the header to display the whole message.

App works but the experience for foreign users is subpar
So much to be said, the app is easy enough to use and buy tickets. But as a foreigner who visits frequently I can’t even create an account? So I have to constantly reload card details and can’t even access discounts that users can get because I don’t have a personal number in sweden. The prices are also a little insane for a 15 min trip away from gothenburg.
Why is a personnummer required?
My partner visits me in Gothenburg frequently, but to create an account and receive discounts after buying multiple tickets, he requires the personnummer only available to long term residents. This seems discriminatory to visitors and short term residents who won’t have the personnummer. The app itself provides notifications that he’s eligible for the bonus and tells him to create an account, which really just rubs it in.
