Vay 9+

Vay is a cult classic RPG released for the Sega CD back in 1994. This port for the iPhone is faithful to the Sega CD release and has the bonus of having all new hand drawn battle screens as well as some amine FMV sequences too. The story is your classic RPG type with you having to stop the world from getting destroyed. Also the script in the game is very well written with very few mistakes in it at all. Menus are easy to navigate for fighting, using herbs etc and equiping armor and weapons. The difficulty level in the game is good but if your wanting a real challenge then you can change it to the harder level but on normal you shouldn't have to much trouble progressing through the game. Overall this is a excellent RPG tittle, with over 40 hours of gameplay and should be downloaded by any RPG loving fan. Just hoping now that the developers release more of Working Designs RPGs like Lunar Silver Star Story, Lunar Eternal Blue and Elemental Gearbolt.

This game is brilliant. A real old school RPG. The game starts off easy, letting you get used to the controls. You soon meet someone who joins your team. This happens a few times during the game, and some will also leave. Each person is good at different things, like one girl does Magic and another is strong at melee.

There is shops and Npc's to talk to throughout the game, so you can buy better weapons. I got many hours of gameplay out of this and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting value for money. The graphics are pleasing and look like the original game it was ported from. The game has a soundtrack running all the way through, and will change during battles and different areas. Lasts the stated 40+ hours of playtime which is excellent :)

Also once you finally complete this game, you are given access to extra content, like deleted cutscenes and new areas. A 5***** App!

I have just finished the game, and am very impressed with this. A few niggles so I would give this 4.5 if I could, but 4 stars seems a bit unfair as this App is so much better than alot of the other stuff on the store.

My main gripe is the frequency of random battles, which become quite frustrating in the later stages of the game. In addition, it is a little easy, as the characters grow in stats and power very rapidly. Possibly you could lower the frequency of random encounters, and lower the stat gains from level-ups?

Otherwise, this is an extremely impressive piece of work. Very Well Done!!
