VeriFLY: Fast Digital Identity 4+

Could this be more seamless? Yes. But it worked for my flight from UK to US. It took about two hours to verify my COVID test after I put it in which wasn’t bad. The longest wait was for it to sync with BA (overnight) so I could check in and get my seat. At the airport (Heathrow) I just had to have the VeriFLY app, my boarding pass, and passport. So, in spite of all the hiccups described by others, I would recommend getting it done if you’re flying British airways and they text you to check in on this app. I can see how it would be stressful if your Covid test comes in late, but it seems like the airport and VeriFLY are working to get things better going. Also, I didn’t have the paper printed COVID test result as I received the result digitally and I’m not over the age of 60 and/or having thousands of dollars in my budget for printer ink. The app verification sufficed.

I haven’t even finished what I was doing and I’ve come here to write a negative review. Why did I need to use this in the first place? That’s on BA, not this app. Other airlines I can upload directly or just show at boarding. So already I’m annoyed to download one more app and share my email to one more company. Issues: I need to use this for BA, logically I look for BA on the app since that is how I would expect it to connect, wrong! I need to search “a trip to…”. Why do I need to write “a trip”?? Seems a pain. Why does the search not work interactively, i.e. update real time? It’s not hard… Anyway, where am I going? London? No. United Kingdom? No. Ahh, maybe they want GB, or England? Nope. It’s “UK”, no “U.K.”, “UK” Great. So now I’m on my trip, flight number BA0XXX, let me search, doesn’t exist. Double check BA booking, I’m correct. For some absolutely inexplicable reason they’ve removed the leading 0, so on VeriFLY it’s BAXXX, apparently that can happen but quite frustrating nonetheless, and an app that I was directed to from a page describing flight BA0XXX must do better. That’s where I’ve got to anyway. Could be more seamless, mostly annoyed at BA. Only stole from me 3 minutes of frustration (+10 more to write this :)). If they fixed these problems I’d still be annoyed, not needing the app in the first place would make me happy, sometimes the simplest solutions…

My partner and I had to upload our NHS vaccination certificates 10 times for them to get accepted. All the information we put in was correct and we were uploading the same information each time, it finally got accepted. Then we tried uploading our PCR results. This time, it didn’t accept the PCR results saying the date of the test cannot be in the future, eventhough the test is taken on the 17th and the test result is taken on the 18th and I am uploading on the 18th. September 17 is on the dropdown menu anyway! Finally it accepted that it is not a future date but it said the date I put in for the sample taken is not matching the report I uploaded which was not true! Eventhough all the information I put in was correct, I tried another 10 times and it wasn’t accepted so we couldn’t get the green pass from VeriFLY and almost couldn’t check in as the person at the check-in didn’t accept the covid vaccination certificates that the NHS gave us. Apparently they are valid in the UK but not valid for traveling to the UK. It is ridiculous! When I said the vaccination was accepted by VeriFLY, they didn’t think that was legit enough either. All these apps are giving us all this stress and waste our time all to collect our private data and track us! I cannot believe BA is partnering with this app as a legitimate platform with so many glitches!
