VERO - True Social 17+

It’s an amazing app. Great features. Amazing UI. Very sleek and clean. It’s great for photography and art and similar mediums but it still has a plethora of features allowing it to appeal to the general public. It’s all around an amazing app. The developers clearly listen to the users and I would highly recommend downloading this app.

My only concern is that one day if this app gains more downloads, more traffic and more popularity overall then they will change gradually. Usually when companies start making a lot of money from one of their products, services, games or apps they begin changing them ever so slowly for the sake of profit. The users become secondary or even tertiary to profit and advertiser friendly content and ultimately get drowned out by the developers and the people in charge of the app. This app is amazing right now. The only thing that might be helpful is making it a little more open/accessible/relatable for everyday social media users and the general public. Everything is genuinely great. I just really really hope it stays that way. Whatever happens next is ultimately up to you, the developers. Good luck.

Finally, a platform that listens and cares for its users. Many of the artists I follow on Instagram have recently opened a Vero account in response to the shambles of the self-serving Meta group, who are only interested in advertisers, and have disgruntled and alienated their users through the manipulation of algorithms.
VERO is so fresh and uncomplicated, and such a joy to use! You can post your work and favourite photos, as well as links, videos, favourite books, movies, etc. knowing that you will never be pestered by endless targeted ads that push irrelevant feed content down your throat! This is not just a trend; Vero have been true to their mission since the very beginning in 2015 because they know that ultimately, it’s the people that make a platform successful, not those who want to monetise the air we breathe.

I’ve been using Vero for nearly a year now and it’s exactly what social media should be.
No ads, no using your data - just all about helping you to share experiences and ideas.

It can seem empty at first but that’s because Vero isn’t constantly suggesting content you might like, or adverts for business pages. It’s just down to you to decide for yourself. You’re in control. The only recommendations are on the Vero home screen - featuring various people or pages you might consider following when you first join.

You can connect with friends or just follow people - and you easily share some content with everyone, and other posts with just your closest friends.

You can simply share a photo of your day, or recommend a film, a book, a song. And when you do, Vero helps your followers by linking to information about it - play a clip of the song, or a synopsis of the book or the cast of the film.

It just feels better thought through than other social sites.

And perhaps most importantly, the people on there are a friendly bunch. I’ve seen none of the trolling like on some other sites.
