Just like the original
So much quicker than using a spreadsheet. If you know/learn how this works it is the best. My main use is to check how investments have performed over a period of years, with regular withdrawals. For example, I am drawing from my pension fund, so how has the fund performed. I enter the amount originally invested, the annual withdrawal, the number of years, the present valuation, then press the interest button to give the annual performance over those years. Result given in less than a minute. Much quicker than setting up a spreadsheet, or using those “calculate everything” financial apps.
This is just like using that brilliant calculator, but easier on my iPad/iPhone.
Great emulations
After nearly 40 years the number 9 key on my 12c doesn’t always register about a third of the time. Easier to switch to this version than take it apart to try to fix it or to unlearn RPN habits. The 15C is available in a bundle for an extra £2 as well, and having never owned one, that was a bonus to try out, even though I remain a “2 decimal places good, 4 d p bad” person. Soon get used to it as everything seems to work the same as on the real thing. Having the handbook online is another bonus as I doubt if I could find mine easily if I wanted to do something out of the ordinary.
Excellent calculator
Although I've never used a real HP-12c, I'm sure from what other reviewers have said that this is a faithful copy. On my iPhone SE it's a bit small for my fingers, but that is my only criticism, and of course it would not a problem for anyone with a larger phone. A superb emulation of a calculator legend.
