A fun and engaging way to listen to your Apple Music Library

I have hundreds of physical albums but no longer play them as I’ve recreated my vinyl collection with about 95% accuracy using Apple Music. The cherry on the top of the playback cake is Vinyl Fetish - it’s the closest you can get to playing vinyl on an iPad - seeing an album side with the tracks correctly position means grasping the sense of that side just by looking, as with the real thing. Not only that but everything supports that view - the light pattern, the arm movement across and the start and end of a side, not to mention the much improved & fun side flipping animation. Then there’s the brilliant choice to apply the original album disc labels from the web (I’ve had around 90%+ success rate at this) which makes SO much difference. If you only have one track from an album it will allow you to display it as a single - delightful. As if that wasn’t enough you can match the background to the artwork, rearrange and split the tracks and album sides, remove the hated “(Remastered)”, or whatever suffix, from every track name with the touch of a button. Coloured vinyl is available on a per album basis. I could go on, but just see for yourself. This is a labour of love and it really shows.

Great idea, brilliantly executed

I love the way this app supports more conscious listening. I like the pause at the end of a “side” and that I need to make a conscious choice to flip over or chose a different record. (Or ask Siri to flip the record for me!)

Also great that it’s easy to trim off nonsense from deluxe versions of albums. It’s perfect for records that were very much made with two sides as part of the intended listening experience. And also great for newer albums that, as the user, you can break into sides for, in my view, a better experience. The visuals are smashing too. Highly recommended.

Superb app

One of the best vinyl apps I have come across. Integration with my Apple Music library is easy which means that those 60s/70s rare albums are now playable as if on a turntable. Online searches for cover artwork and original label (label) is also straightforward. Being a bit of a purist I bought the Pro version and added scratches which you can very according to intensity. 5 stars. This is great a great little app.
