I'd like to keep it running...

...but it uses too many resources. I've had this as my main AV for almost as long as I've had a Mac (~10 years). On my Intel iMac it seemed to behave itself, running quietly in background. Only ever found issues with old (and archived) emails - suspect attachments that I would never need so I let it delete them.
But, when I switched to an M1-Pro Macbook, it started to consume memory - 1GB and gaining whilst in the background. My MBP has 16GB and I've never found it lacking memory (although I know I need more for some video editing FX - painfully slow but, fortunately, a rare need); but I'm wary of an app that I've seen grab over 10% of that in just a few days. Two options:
1) Kill it (or reboot) when memory is getting low; or
2) Recognise that, in >10 years, it's never triggered an alert that was significant (OK, I don't visit dodgy sites or click on links in random emails), so just use it as an on-demand scanner every month or so.
Option #2 - until Bitdefender can fix the memory leak.

uses lots of hard drive space

Used this for several years and it does a great job. However, recently while trying to work out why my disk space was running so low, I discovered that this software was using up 22GB of my hard drive.... it doesn't delete cache or archive and there is nothing in preferences to control this.

Doesn't work properly with Mojave

I've just update to Mojave and installed the latest Bit Defender update that apparently adds support for Mojave.
It doesn't work though - it keeps telling me to allow permissions for full disc access (which it has).
Hopefully a proper fix will be available very soon or I will be uninstalling it.
