Not what we need

Personally, I think it would make more sense for this app to be like a calorie-counting app, but for nutrients.

Most people don’t know whether their dinner was rich in calcium or starchy carbohydrates, so if you could type in what you had for dinner and have the app tell you how many nutrients were in your dish, it would be a better learning experience for the user and it would make it easier to use it to follow a vegan diet.

I think it’s an important app idea as getting the right amount of nutrients while still not going over a calorie limit is proving a bit difficult for me, so an app that counts your specific nutrient goals and tells you when you’ve met them would be perfect, but this isn’t quite there yet.

If the idea was for the app to promote the user to read the labels of their food and do their own research into the nutrients they provide, then sell it in that way because that’s also a good idea to get someone to learn about what they’re eating, but it doesn’t say that that’s how the app should be used.

Overall it’s a good start, but it doesn’t seem to be what most people want just yet.

Ok - ish

This really needs to be more like a calorie counter app because if I already knew whether I’d eaten all of the tick list items, then I wouldn’t need the tick list. I don’t know (and I’m sure plenty of others don't) whether my foods classify as “enough” or “high” in certain nutrition categories. I am desperately looking for an app that I can enter my daily food intake and see whether I’ve hit essential vegan categories like iron, calcium, and B12.

Good idea but not what I need

I uploaded this thinking it would be perfect having uninstalled my fitness pal once I realised it doesn’t track any important nutrients like vitamin D, B2, B12 or selenium. I know these are often labelled on vegan foods so when I saw this I though it would be exactly what I wanted. Sadly it seems to be simply a list of tick boxes that you self assess by writing down the foods you ate. No numbers, no calculations. Rubbish as far as I am concerned. Anyone new to a plant based diet will be none the wiser about what they are eating and experienced people like me already know many of the tips it gives. I can’t really see any point in it as a tool for vegans, sorry!
