“I didn’t have much time to prepare for the GRE, and Magoosh made it possible for me to succeed on the test in a short period of time. I looked at Kaplan GRE, Barron’s, and Princeton Review products, and I can confidently say that Magoosh was definitely the best.”

“The team is really great and actually cares about your score as much as they would care about their own. Simply the best.”

Take a look if you want to improve your vocabulary. It is free, so what have you got to lose? It is a productive use of your time. The developer deserves support, as this is fun & engaging. A nice concept! I am an adult (who needs help to improve spelling and comprehension) so I tried the harder word sections. I got several wrong, but the app challenges you to remember the correct meaning next time.
If I might suggest to the developer, that if there is a similar word to the one being quizzed, the user might benefit from a one line reference to it, to remove any confusion or feeling that the app. is mistaken. e.g. discrete and discreet. You have my congratulations for spending your efforts on this.

Great up but needs some work

Only started with general words and this review only refers to that section.
The app works fine but while translation for most of the words is into the first meaning, some words get translated in to the second meaning which would be confusing for English learners. Words are selected good but the grouping is weird because first levels contain regular amount and then in goes so quick that final levels are so long that I usually have no time to finish the level in one go. It would be better to have more levels but not so many words in each, at least not as many as in last levels.
The word algorithm is also random this means that some of the words may pop up several times and some of the words may pop up only once and as long as one choses the correct meaning they will no longer show and likely to be forgotten just as easily.
In second level of basic words it jumps to another level, this needs attention.

Interesting but some minor issues

This could definitely help to expand my vocabulary over the coming weeks. My main gripe with it is that at times there are words that are spelt the same but used and said differently appropriate being one example that came up very recently. If there was a sound saying the word or if a letter could be accented it could make it much easier to determine which one it wants the definition of. Appropriate was fairly simple given the choice of answers but other have confused me a little.
The other issue I have is very minor and may even be device specific, I’m using the iPhone 14Pro max and find that pressing the back button often doesn’t work. Lowing it a little or increasing the size could really help with navigation.
