Wallbox 4+

Just echoing some previous reviews, the charger is great, compact and does what it is supposed to do. It charges the car!

However, the app is a different story. Have not been able to connect through Wi-Fi for months. When I first got it installed in March, everything worked fine. I mean, there were times it wouldn’t connect but it was rare. Now, it simple doesn’t connect or find my network. My car connects to it, my phone connects to whilst standing right next to it but the charger doesn’t. I don’t understand why companies that spend millions in product development don’t build a complete product by this I mean a good app that works well the main product. I am haven’t to go outside in this freezing cold and connect via Bluetooth if I need to.

For something I’ve paid hundreds of pounds for I expect better!

The box itself is superb. Stylish and unobtrusive. The App is a whole other thing. I’ve had connectivity issues with the App to Wallbox ever since it was installed and as such it doesn’t work. Bluetooth connection is pointless unless you’re standing right next to the box and rarely was the App able to ‘find’ the Wallbox when it was working. I’ve had the box in for about a year now and don’t even bother with the App. I just let the car do its thing. Having read through all the very poor feedback on here I’m wondering if Wallbox even cares about the App issues. There seem little is any replies or solutions. Another one of those ‘take ya money and sod the aftercare’ companies I suppose. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m astonished at the continuing poor reviews about this app without any comment or suggestions from its developers. Not a word of hope for future use. My suggestion is to NEUTRALISE the app by deleting it from your phone, reboot the box by switching it off and then back on, plug your car in and ALLOW THE CAR to control the charge supply. I have a BMW X5 45E. BMW has its own app which does everything you’d expect from the Wallbox app. I have an overnight cheap electricity tariff and I’ve set the car to call for charge overnight during the cheap tariff period. No brainer peeps! Dump the app.

April 2023 update is broken. If you use the app once and swipe it away and the next time you open the app it says ‘cloud connection failed’ reboot charger which is total rubbish. So you have to force close app and reopen it. — Off grid mode with no delays! Schedule charging amp current! — If using full solar in off-grid environment you are still forced to wait 10min for charging, stopping or changing anything. This is unhelpful when the sun does not comply with the same system. There needs to be an off grid mode. - Lastly.. no developer reply .. I have been trying to find a way to set AMPs at a particular schedule but it seems impossible. - For a system that is suppose to work well with dynamic power adjustment it’s not smart at all. And like others I also have weird WiFi issues, hoping latest update does something..
- Overall a good charger let down by the app and customer service that is willing to do nothing about nothing. Very dissatisfied.
