Description

Europe wars of WW1 and WW2

War in Europe is a fast turn-based land grabbing war game that is easy to learn but requires some planning and strategy to master. With the use of thousands of troops, planes, artillery, tanks, and warships you must defend your lands while conquering your enemy’s lands. Build up your fortifications while your artillery bombards your enemies, make alliances with other nations and control the sea areas with your navy. Victory will go to the one who can control enough land zones to fulfill the victory conditions. The game is ad free, and each game can be completed within one hour. Scenarios includes WW1, WW2, and a Free-For-All, the free version offers 12 small scenarios.

Cool game however I have 2 problems

The 1st 1 is only minor and maybe even an intended feature, but when I attack and don’t leave forces behind they can take my territory after I’ve taken theirs…

However my main problem lies with troop transport, let’s say I’m playing as the uk and I want to funnel troops to the African front. So my 1st idea is to move my troops through france and also leaving some behind to protect their front, but I can’t do that. So I try to navally move my troops but nope france has ships blocking my ships, therefore I can’t move my troops navally. So I end up loosing Africa. So as uk unless u play Barbarossa when France has already capitulated, all u can really do is sit there twiddling ur thumbs.

But still great game!

Hi, thanks for your review. Yes, this game has its limits, it was designed as an easy game to play. You should try ColoniesAtWar it has all you requirements and more.

Lots of fun if you want challenge

Better than dice roll type simulations, but not so complex as requiring you to manage individual battles and develop resources in individual locations this is a solid game that allows you to progress through learning scenarios, develop to different settings (all games can be played at easy normal and hard) and more challengingly located nations (currently battling to succeed as Ukraine, not easy!) as you develop your skill.
My only terribly minor gripe that there is no instructions (having checked including a word search of the full document) in the rules that says how you physically join an alliance, I have clicked on nations that have said they'd be happy to ally with me but there is no option to create an alliance from that point or any other screen I can find, and then they ally with others.
I expect it may be in one of the scenarios I've not yet done because I enjoy the free for all play and have paid for the ability (it's relatively cheap) to enjoy more game types without doing every scenario, but still seems an omission from the rule book and would appreciate knowing how to do it. Until then I fight on alone...!

Hi, thanks for your review. There is information about alliances in the rules and more information on my website. I copied this from the game- In the FFA game, forming alliances will only become available when one nation becomes a superpower and reaches an income of 750. When this happens all other nations will then consider forming into pacts, and there are certain conditions before you can join a pact. No one can join a pact that will bring the pact’s income to over 1,000. Nations cannot form a pact with another nation that has an income over 750. Nations will only want to join another nation that has connecting lands. Nations will expect at least 2 connecting land/sea areas when considering joining the player nation. Once a nation joins into an alliance/pact it cannot change. In some games like WW1 and WW2 alliances/pacts are already set, and only neutrals can join one of the pacts.- I hope this helps. John

Good game but

This game is amazing and no bugs but after a turn a zombie advertisement would pop up and you couldn’t stop it. So I would like a feature so you can pay to stop the advertisements. Apart from that on ww1 I was sailing underneath Italy when the ship sunk my men. Then, they became my allies so I couldn’t a get past them and I was stuck.
So can you add a feature so you can go past allied forces or join then. Another thing is that you can attack neutral countries on missions
and they would become your enemy. It is a good game but please stop the advertisements and possibly do the other ideas.

Hi, Thanks for your review. You think the game is amazing but you gave it a 3/5? Bad ratings kill games. You can stop the ads by buying the game. Sorry, but if your army get isolated then they are stuck, don't overstretch your forces . I have implemented these changes into my other games. John
