does one thing and does it well

great app, if you start using this, your productivity and well being really will improve. Great that you only pay once to switch to premium, and not a monthly or yearly subscription.

Some other people have complained you cant set a frequency for a habit (eg no junk food for 5 out of 7 days). Instead you just put the number in the title (eg exercise 4 days this week), then you just put 'skip' for the days when you don't exercise. It's up to you to put an (X) for a day when you have broken the chain: eg exercise for 4 days might be : Y-Y--YX .. because you got to the end of the week and hadn't exercised 4 times. At first I was also looking for the option for x per week or x per month on a task, but this way is actually much more flexible and easier. Just thought I'd mention that as it's not in any tutorial/instructions!

Good point on the frequency issue. Should include that in the walk-through!

Very good app, could use improvements

I use both this app and Daylio, this one for much longer than Daylio (at least a year). The app is very easy to use and I really like the developer. I also love that you can add unlimited tags and notes, the free (and affordable premium) themes. Daylio charges for the ability to add more tags, and Way of Life doesn’t. Some things could be improved, like have neutral categories (sometimes I just want to track habits that are not necessarily bad or good, to be able to compare), maybe reporting could be improved as well to be more human-readable, like “you tend to do this a lot” or “you haven’t been doing much of this lately”. I think neither Way of Life nor Daylio replace one another, they are just different with a similar concept. Overall I highly recommend the app, it’s very useful! :)

One day at a time

Today marks day 7 of using the app, I immediately signed up for Premium- amazing value for money. I recently saw the doctor regarding my mental health. I am due to start some CBT this coming week. I needed something to help me stay motivated for the little things that help me as a human being. This app for me is like a speedy version of a bullet journal without the stress of carrying a book and pens with it, everywhere I go. The simplicity of two colours makes it very easy to monitor progress. I love that you can update yesterday.
Thank you for creating such a user friendly app. I know that it is going to play a big part in my road to recovery!
My only request would be to be able to sort the habits into an order that makes sense for my fault schedule rather than scrolling to find the habit to update.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your kind review and best of luck with your recovery - glad the Way of Life is able to play a positive role in that!
As for reordering, please tap “Edit” top-left on the Journals page. Then reorder items by dragging the handles next to each item. All best.
