Works well for local trains
On the whole, this app works well for booking tickets. All local trains.
Only downside I’ve found so far is that when you are looking for a specific time for your train it gives a list with lots of times much earlier than the one you might want, but if you want to see times that are slightly later, you have to go to the next page and flick back and forth to see your best option.
Simple to use and no extra charges
I find myself using this app as it seems to be the easiest one and doesn’t apply extra charges.
I put 4* star rather than 5* as I don’t think it does the ‘split fare’ service so I have to go to trainline for that.
Useful features removed in latest update
The latest update (3.0.0) has removed the ability to view live train times on the Home Screen. To me that was its most useful feature (given that the train is highly likely to be running late or cancelled). I wonder if they are just trying to hide this fact from the public.
The rest of the app, with the exception of purchasing tickets, just seems to consist of links back to the WM Railway website, not app based content.
Overall seems to be a regressive “update” offering less than the previous app. Come on WMT, try a little harder.
