Appalling from start to finish
Absolutely shocking service and a shocking shocking airline. Tried to buy seats only for payments to repeatedly decline - seats to appear on the tickets for 24h then disappear. Unable to get through to anyone on the phone so used the live chat - only for them to fail again. Finally got through to someone after 1.5h on the phone - told we would be given extra legroom seats free of charge - only for one of these (of our pair) to disappear during check in. Then had to pay for the extra legroom seat to get next to each other…and found out we had also been charged for the other one. Essentially lied to and made to choose and pay for more expensive seats. The flight itself then left 70 minutes late and made us miss our connection - given an alternative flight 9 hours later and rudely told it was our fault by guest assistance who were clearly fed up of everyone complaining. Absolutely avoid this airline - they are scammers and incompetent from start to finish.
Locked passport data
Despite my accurate passport being on the app, I made 1 mistake entering my passport, but I can’t edit it.
I’ve been on hold for nearly an hour and a half, tried deleting app multiple times, absolutely nothing I can do to check in.
Ridiculous that passport details doesn’t have a double check before being locked out if it. Now I know why this airline went bust a few years ago.
Works fine
Worked OK for me - use to view bookings / check in before flight, once on aircraft lots of films avail, also in flight info (maps etc) easy to navigate. We had power points (US and UK and USB) fitted. As most people travel with their own devices this app allows Westjet to do away with seat back monitors, which in any case were small and had poor quality pictures.
This app allows decent picture quality on your own device.
I didn't purchase web access so can't comment on the usability of such.
