NOTE: due to the large number of images and places the app is slow to load first time and may not work well (or crash) if many other apps are open in parallel. Please close other apps.

You will find preloaded maps, photos, directions and travel writing to inspire and inform. Many of the land and water adventure locations comes with stunning photography. There are entries for pubs, campsites and attractions (usually without photos). If you need inspiration you can browse the app by slideshow, list, photo gallery and on an interactive map. Ask the app to find places close to you, or search using postcode, address, star rating, walk-in time, keywords or other features. You can share places on email and Facebook and save favourites too.

Interactive map is very disappointing

We bought the south west book a few years ago and loved it. Since then we have bought a couple more. We lost our south west book so I thought the app might be a great next step but it’s not. The interactive map (the main feature of an app over a book) is crap. It’s supper glitchy, if you click on some thing to see what it is, the map repositions itself and then loses what you clicked. There is no way to refine the items on the map to see only to activity type you want. Don’t waste your time on the app just get the book

Great content, app needs improvement

Love the books and the app has the same great content ... the interactive map is the main reason I bought the map, and the locator (top right) doesn't seem to work? Could do with an update, as well as links to place websites, etc. More places to eat along key routes into the area (A303, M4/5) would remove any need for trips to service stations and Little Chef ...
