Wipr blocks all ads, trackers, cryptocurrency miners, EU cookie and GDPR notices, and other annoyances, so you can focus on the content that matters to you while using Safari.
• Time, Data, and Battery Saver
Web pages load a lot faster with Wipr, and much less needs to be downloaded. Your battery will love this.
Wipr prevents countless trackers from invading your privacy. Wipr itself cannot, nor wants to, know what you do on the web.
By using a new technology called Content Blocking Extensions, Wipr can do its job without slowing down Safari at all.
Wipr's blocklist is updated twice a week to keep up with the ever-changing web.
No one can pay to unblock ads. There are no "acceptable ads". Wipr only answers to you.
You can set up Wipr in seconds, and it will update automatically in the background to block future annoyances. There is no configuration.
This app was built with love and patience. I hope you'll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed designing and building it.
Wipr is also available for your iPhone or iPad, look for it in the App Store!
Enjoy a cleaner web!
Wipr includes an optional Tip Jar with monthly subscription options. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings after purchase.
• The app will no longer say "update available" if it's about to fetch it automatically.
• Minor UI improvements.
Ratings and Reviews
Unless I am missing something….
….this doesn’t actually work in Safari 12.
£1.99 wasted it seems.
Edit: Turns out you have to manually launch the wipr app and then download the blacklist files.
Really good ad blocker that works seamlessly
Looked around for a new ad blocker since upgrading to Safari 12 and did a look around and came across this app. Installed quickly, nice UI and all importantly does exactly what it says! Highly recommmend! 👍🏻
Works well but...
It works so well in the background that I forget it's there. Now that's good...and not so good. I'd really like some visible indicator up by the address bar. An icon I can click to make an exception for some websites?
