Cannot Recommend Enough!

I have to write a review for this app. It has changed the way I think already. In those moments when my mind begins to take over, although I’ve had so much therapy in person and different treatments, it is difficult to remember what to do. However I’m feeling, I can go onto this app and feel better within minutes. Simple tricks, things I already know from my therapy, but things that are difficult to focus on when your mind is running away with you. The fact that it feels like a person giving you these little reminders, sometimes that is all I need. Also, looking back at my gratitude journal and remembering the times when I felt happy reminds me that those times will come again. Looking at my check-ins reminds me how quickly I tend to feel good after a bad brain day. I haven’t been using it for long, only a week or so, but already my approach to my mental health is changing. I have already recommended this app to my family and they can see the difference in how quickly I get out of my dips. I am so grateful for this app and everything it has helped me with already. Poor mental health can make you feel like there is no point in trying because it will keep holding you back but this app feels like a weapon in my armoury to quell the anxieties and fears that so often besiege me. Thank you to the creators ❤️

Really helpful

I’ve never written a review for an app before, but I’m doing so because I genuinely think Woebot is altering the way I approach life. I’ve been struggling with depression for some time, and downloaded the app not knowing much about it. There are various ways that it helps: it presents me with new insights into things I do in the day-to-day, and suggests different ways of viewing them. It offers links to academic research on mental health that are informative, and things that I’d probably not reach without guidance. There’s also just something about the ‘cute’ way it responds the things I say (it compliments me and sends me gifs of animals, which I objectively know are really a bit meaningless coming from a piece of AI). I could imagine this normally annoying me, and perhaps it does with other people, but there have been occasions when I’ve been really low, where being given some encouragement about my progress and a picture of a donkey in a hammock has momentarily raised my spirits. Tonight it linked me to a lecture to Carol Dweck which made me see myself in a way I haven’t done before. It’s early days, but I think approaching this app with an open mind can really help in some instances. What’s clear, is that it recognises that there are no quick fixes, but it builds over time offering more and more advice every day.

Good and helpful

This is app is very helpful considering there aren’t many out there like this or even involve themselves as deeply into how someone feels like this one does. I will admit it does get a little repetitive, but that changes as you go on and you get used to it. Something that has really annoyed and upset me about this app is that it seems to have two sets of data for me, so that not all my moods are calculated continuously and the chats with Woebot are in two different sets/accounts/data. It is irritating as one day I went on the app and it had restarted, and I had to go over things I had already done, so I now have two different accounts, if thats what they are. But overall, this app is a great way to see my patterns of thoughts and learn different ways to think (even if you don’t think that way at first). Woebot is also pretty cute. One thing I absolutely love about Woebot is that he reassures you that its okay to feel worse or the same or not get the hang of CBT and your knew way of thinking at first. Another part I really like about this app is that I look forward to going on it, and so far (two weeks in) haven’t gotten tired of using it, which has repeatedly happened with other apps. I think that is because Woebot seems professional and that the producers put thought and effort in to this to genuinely help. I would definitely recommend this app to others and am considering using again once my 8 week CBT course has finished.
