Makes being smart fun!

Love this app - not a thing wrong with it and the premium version is only £2.49 which gives you the option to save words and no ads. Saying that, the ads are not a disturbance - tiny at the bottom. You get all features apart from saving for free. Hands down has more synonyms, rhyming words, “words beginning with”… useful for scrabblers, plus others. It’s my second most used app.

Essentially just zoomed iPhone app.

Looks awful. Blown up and even then does not fill whole screen, leaving big black edges. No support for anything but full-screen mode. For now, I’ll keep WH open in Safari whilst split screen with Microsoft Word.

Why people are giving this 5* is beyond me. Yes Word Hippo is almost certainly the best source of synonyms, ever, that does not mean the app is 5*.

How they can be quite so successful at creating the service but so abysmal at creating apps is beyond me. iPhone app doesn’t support Max screens, and potentially plus screens either. iPad Pro app has awful black borders too, but as I said, main complaint = no multitasking. On a THESAURUS/DICTIONARY. People do not tend to read them just for the hell of it whilst having nothing else to do. As literally every other app in the category has realised, their app class is what multitasking was made for. Screen time potentially now capable of lasting hours longer... but not for Word Hippo, apparently.

Was going to give 2* when I started, but now, you know what? 1*. It neglects exactly everything it could be doing, that its competitors are, to make it worth those stars. But it does NONE of them. 1* just for having an app, albeit terrible.

Genuinely amazing

Just to start off, I’m not a bot review. This app is so helpful and has amazing features like being able to put it in a sentence and find rhyming words. I would recommend this app to anyone in school, has improved my vocabulary so much. The ads are tiny at the bottom and the premium is so cheap anyway. The best app I’ve found so far.
